From a 2013 Mustang 5.0 to a 370Z

Not really a new member as I had a 370Z m6 back then, more like a re-Introduction!:icon17:

Unfortunalty my 370 was lemoned and stripped away from me, leaving a bad taste in my mouth with nissan. So i decided to venture off into the dark side and bought a 5.0. At one point the car was a full bolt on 11.4 1/4 car @122...amazing bang for the buck. I pretty much had reached the limitations of the platform without getting into cams and tearing into the motor or adding nitrous. The thing was, the "itch" never left me...ive always been a Z guy, thats the first car i fell in love with. its like that ONE girl you never got over :)....so on a whim I stripped my 5.0 down and traded her in for an hr 350! Car has been fun and i had tons of positive equity in it anddddd everytime i saw a 370Z i would just lussst at it...so Here I am...back in the Zaddle:tup: I feel at home and in love again...this is what car life is all about! some pics of old and new:http://s29.postimg.org/8gp76rk47/IMG_0426.jpg http://s7.postimg.org/pcg70iqbf/IMG_8315.jpg new http://s3.postimg.org/skvlzs3bn/IMG_1162.jpg http://s11.postimg.org/6g7m3wc6b/IMG_1163.jpg

I cant believe how happy I am with this decision!

Congrats glad to see you back in a Z again.

Zbrah 06-12-2015 11:00 AM

Wait, I was told a few days ago we're the "dark side"

Anyhow, welcome back to being SEXZ!:woot:

GZ3 06-12-2015 11:03 AM

I guess we could be the dark side since this is domestic country!

Trips 06-12-2015 12:57 PM

Congrats and Welcome BACK! :hello:

GZ3 06-12-2015 01:02 PM

thanks Trips, feel great to be back

Kzonts 06-12-2015 01:14 PM

Congrats! I did the same - traded my Stang. Wife and I wanted something different.

That was about 3 months ago and now I miss it. The "Z" just isn't very obnoxious and muscular.

GZ3 06-12-2015 01:21 PM

do you miss the power or the car itself?

BC416 06-12-2015 01:39 PM

Welcome back!

I cross shopped 11+ Mustangs with the Z. Awesome powerplants but the Z wins in every other category IMO.

You traded your muscle car for a sports car. Of course it's not going to be "muscular". Thrown on some test pipes and a cat-back and you'll be just as obnoxious. :tiphat:

carlitos_370z 06-12-2015 01:46 PM

welcome back to the dark side dude!

I'd say the car. Had it for four years and added a lot of mods, so it was my baby... I'll get over it... LOL

GZ3 06-12-2015 03:58 PM

Haha i got over it the second i was cruising on the highway...

Love the Z....

The prodigal son :)

I made the same move 6 months ago ! i had a 2011 5.0 Brembo / premium package for about 2.5 years that i sold to get into the Nismo i'm driving currently . i'll be honest i miss that car from time to time ; the watts link , suspension upgrades changes , bolt ons & a good tune changes that cars character completely , i dialed that car in to handle like it was rails , it was a great experience . :driving:

Lovin the GTR in the background. Congrats and welcome back!!!

Spstone 09-11-2015 03:23 PM

I cross shopped the mustang and just wasn't overly impressed. Not including the fact that every one and their brother had one, it just felt mushy and unrefined driving wise. The interior felt like they where stretching to be high class on a budget. I wish I could have given a Shelby a try, but it wouldn't have been even close to my price range and their wasn't one available.

Welcome back brother

thanks man. good to be back...are you talking about the 15+ interior or older years

birdman71 09-22-2015 01:17 PM

Good to have you back and back on the light or the dark side or whatever we have been determined as now-a-days haha

Doesn't matter we have cookies

and omg the 5.0's eat gas like no tomorrow. You're lucky to get 4-5 Mpg driving city and 10-11 highway haha. Those cars, you have to have a nice amount for gas each week.

haha it's not that bad , my '11 5.0 with 3.73 gears & boltons/tune avg. 16 to 18 mpg & around 21 mpg on the highway.

eh, there are tons of 370zs everywhere as well & the interiors in our cars are not exactly world class either. from '10 - '14 the interiors on the Mustangs were quite nice & a huge change from the previous generations , especially the premium packaged cars IMO. not to mention how awesome the coyote 302 is !!

ramoszx12r 10-07-2015 08:04 AM

Congrats, a good choice.

GZ3 01-06-2016 12:14 PM

I recently sold my 370Z, but to my Brother so it stayed in the family. ;)

I finally got my dream car, and stayed with the Nissan family

birdman71 01-06-2016 12:22 PM

Well HELL! LETS SEE SOME MORE PICS OF THE GTR!!! Its the only car now

:worthless:

It was a 2014. The interior was okay, but like I said I felt like it was stretching to be a nicer interior than it really was. I guess the best way I can but it is it felt like when I used to date strippers. They would try really hard to act classy and dress nice, but after a few minutes you could tell they where straight of the trailer park. (disclaimer I am only 1 generation removed from the trailer park and have lived in them myself.)

When I bought my Nismo my interior is exactly what I thought it would be. Barren and what is needed to get the car down the road. Honestly if the GT would have been more race basic and less of a stretch I probably would have like it a little better. On the plus side the Nismo was an easier sell on my wife compared to the Exige I was looking at because while the interior leaves alot of creature comferts to be desired the exige was just a lot of aluminum with racing buckets. I liked it and understood it, but my wife just compared it to the interior in the Esprit I used to have and couldn't wrap her head around the lack of any thing on a 50K car.

Congratulation, looking good.

yes I agree, the interior on the pre 15's is very bland and boring. I don't even know how to describe it, it felt very Nintendo to the 370Z's playstation3. I hated it, the motor saved the car. I cant imagine how pissed the 2010 guys felt buying when the 2011 came out. It may handle well too, but it feels like a boat, floaty, and unconnected with the road. But allot of that can be addressed pretty easily except for the interior. Your stripper analogy is spot on
