Yea due to the heat soak. Im installing a vented hood to get the trapped heat out and force feeding the popchargers with fresh air thru some hoses between the fangs. The shields should keep away the heat away also. The post maf tubes will also help the popchargers to work at their full potential while reducing heat of metal tubing on CAI. Im doing this for the uniqueness and sound

Yea i know the heat soak issues of the overheating VHR motor. At the same time I will be installing a vented hood and letting cool air through some air hoses from the fangs. The heat shields should protect the filters from getting too hot and the silicone past maf hoses should be cooler than the metal piping on cai intakes also helping the popchargers to work to their potential along with my full exhuast setup. Im also going to paint the metal tubing and ring around the Popchargers with some black heat coating. Again this setup might not make better hp gains than the Stillen Gen 3s but I like uniqueness and bad *** sound.

I don't think you realize just how little good a vented hood does. It mainly allows more hot air across the radiator. Might give you an edge on the track but not so much for a DD. Several threads on the subject on this site.

But the vents dont reach the radiator? Better than keeping all that heat inside

Venting a hood is great. But, thinking it will bring your underhood temps to ambient is wrong.

Yea dude thats my current setup. Way better throttle response along little a deeper tone and suction noise. Im planning on removing the airbox resonators then installing a hose that feeds cold air into the filters. Still love the killer sound of popchargers on the VQ and turbo like whistle.
