Default Review: F.I. 12" CBE

Ok, I just want to give a quick review on this exhaust. I will keep this very short (and sweet). I only have one good shot of the tail end to show at this time. I'm not going to post any videos since Tony's are adequate to give you a sense of the sound this kit outputs.

As far as time of installation goes, this kit takes very little time to install. I had a 9:30AM appointment at my local dealership to have this installed. I was pulling out of the garage at 10:45AM. That includes the time it took to talk to the service adviser, sign my name on a piece of paper, wait for them to put the car on the lift, and unload/unpack the parts. Of course removing the original exhaust is even quicker. Probably the hardest (I say hardest, but it's not hard by any means) part of the installation is having to cut the heat shield near the gas tank to make room for the new pipe. Bottom line: It goes on quickly and easily.

Once everything was bolted up and checked for fit, we lowered the car back to Earth and fired it up...that's about the time that a couple of mechanics came over and were wondering what was in the garage. They thought there was a Ferrari or a GT-R in there! Ok, so it's not a Ferrari, but I will say that it definitely has that "exotic" note to it. Nice!! I have heard so many other exhaust kits for this car on the internet, but all pale in comparison to this one. Which, by the way, you will NEVER get the real sound/feel of this exhaust by listening to it on the computer...you HAVE to experience it. It has a nice deep tone at idle, and a ferocious scream at WOT. You will not be disappointed.

Performance-wise: you will notice a difference. You can tell something has been done, but give it some time to break in and allow the ECU to "relearn" the new setup. I didn't disconnect the battery, just let it relearn on its own. I mean, let's be real here...it's not a turbocharger, but you know you're getting the full potential from this exhaust. Tony has tuned this kit to the upper threshold for performance.

Looks: KILLER! To look at this car from the rear end is simply amazing. I eny others who are behind now...and I don't mind sporting and advertising the license plate holder that Tony includes with the order. I'm sure people are jealous when they see it.

In conclusion, for the money, this is one of the best fitting, looking, sounding, performing, tasting, smelling exhaust out there! If you are reading this because you're in the market for something different, something better, something worth your while, please stop reading this thread, pick up the phone and call Tony and get one! It's that simple.

Thanks Tony.

Cool, I plan on attempting a DIY install - fun part is that I don't have a jack that is low enough so I'll probably get it up with the OEM jack, then use a stand, then jack up the other side (if I can't just "tip" the car over far enough - lol)

For the CBE install just jack it up from the rear. Easy.

I just broke down and ordered their CBE w/12" resonators today, should be here in 2 to 4 weeks. Im also getting my Persimmons interior color replaced next week as part of the purchase deal. Getting black leather and blue suade inserts for the seats and blue for the door panels a "Z" emblom on both headrests. Getting the windows tinted at the same time. Ill post pics of all when complete. I will probably just do drop in air filters for now.

I dont have sounds clips because my video camera sucks. As I stated in my review, Tony's clips are adequate to get a sense of what this system sounds like.

No HFC for me...I have had too many problems in the past with HFC's on previous vehicles that I decided to keep the stock cats on this car.

Do you guys think that there will be a major difference, in sound, betweeen the 12 and the 18" resonators? I ordered the 18 and wondering if the 12 would sound better-- more throaty
