AAM Midpipe & Short Tail Exhaust

Yesterday, I installed my AAM midpipe to compliment my recently installed AAM short tails. All went well removing the OEM exhaust. The install went smooth, however, I do have a slight exhaust leak at one of the flanges. I tried to adjust, but same result. Is there a way to correct this, such as, a thicker gasket? I would appreciate any suggestions. The sound of this setup is great!! Here's some pictures:

are u using brand new gaskets? if its new and installed correctly then it shouldnt be leaking.. maybe trying torquing the bolts a little more?

Yeah, using new gaskets. I torqued down the bolts tight. Prior to starting the car, I suspected it would leak at that spot since I felt some slight play on the gasket.

This weekend I plan to add some ultra copper silicone to both sides of the gasket to help with a better seal.

How loud is it?

Opinions are subjective. IMO it's right for me. On a cold start, it does roar like a lion, but once the RPMs drop it purrs like a kitten. Sure, when you step on the gas it does get a bit loud, however, taking it easy on the accelerator and at cruising speed it's not loud at all.

the copper seal should do the trick, if not you may have a warped flange, which would have been caused during the manufacturing process

Every aftermarket install is a gamble. I assume there's always a possibility of any aftermarket replacement to have problems, i.e, fitment issues. In my case, it's just a slight problem that I believe I can fix We'll see how thing work out this weekend.

Today, decided to fix the leaks. Initially I thought I only had the one leak, however, I had four flange leaks. The two that connect to the CATS were fine.

I applied the copper seal to each flange gasket. Also, I decided to purchase larger size bolts w/hardware since the ones that came with original purchase seems a bit too small. Plus, got high grade quality so I can torque down bolt, without the fear of breaking. We'll see how things work out tomorrow after I wait the 24-hours wait period for the copper seal to dry.

Had time to fire it up after redoing my flanges with better hardware and applying cooper seal to the four gaskets that were leaking. Initially, I thought one leaked by, but upon further inspection four leaked....with one that was more noticeable than the others.

Final result.....all is good. Took it on a test drive and no B.S., I can tell the difference on what this properly sealed cat-back system sounds and feels like. Wow....what a difference fixing the flange connections.

Ugghhh I love it. I have an Invidia exhaust and I wish it was a little louder. I'd get in trouble if I was rocking this exhaust where I live, but it sounds great!
