Do you all think it's possible to install the short tails without removing the emission canister sheild?

I tried to see if I could leave it on. However, when test fitting, the aam piping would touch the shield, so I had to take it off.

Just ordered my AAM short tails. There's got to be someone who modified their emission shied without totally removing it. Would like to hear from those who have done something before I do my install.

Had fitment issue with driver's side tail. Worked with AAM and received replacement tails sent via next day air. Installed and extremely happy with the look and sound. Much thanks to Jason with AAM who provided excellent customer service. Here's a couple pics:

Jason out of curiosity do you know if the canister shield was discontinued or only used on sport/Nismo?
I installed the tails on my 2013 base and didn't have anything there that was even remotely close to the tails.: |

We have seen a few come though our shop that haven't had the shield, but we haven't noticed if it's one particular model. Now that you've peaked my interest, I'm going to have our techs keep track. |
