we all know the Z1 modified oem intake produce gain...
but what we will never know is, if there was in Fact any gain relied to your polish of your lower intake .... unless you get another OEM unmodified and test it back to back on the dyno with the only part being changed because the way you are mentioning is you all did that together a placebo effect is soo each easy to feel without knowing it. |

Great point Megan but I doubt I'm going to put down 340 with my Motordyne mani and Z1 HFC's. The lower had to give something. I'm going to be happy with 310 WHP

Well before I had 318whp and 260ft tq without stillen headers and the lower intake. So with that combo it gave me 20 more hp. And extrude hone is more than a port and polish. The 600 dollars was just for the work I paid 185 for a used intake.

so now you are saying you gained 20whp with the stillen header & the ported lower intake ? which brought the result to your claimed 340whp ? Im having a hard time believing it. something was not tuned right before or something. I care less about the 340whp because we know that doesnt mean much but just a reference point ... What I have problem with is that 20whp gain from stillen header and a ported lower intake. |

Yeah it's not that hard to believe lol. The Stillen headers with the ported intake combined with uprev adjustments could very easily gain 20hp. Stillen headers aren't the best but they are good for at least a few ponies with adjustments

go ahead and blindly believe it. the stillen header has never really gave anything and we never on this board proved it was giving much more than a few whp like you say ... 5-7whp at best. that porting giving about 10-15whp is indeed hard to believe. unless it wasn't tuned correctly previously or at all. the topic is about the lower intake gain but the OP added another variable which we wont know what the lower intake can provide. |

read my post previously and show me the facts than just what you are trying to prove.
I just want to believe gain as I truly believe the VHR can gain a ton of power from stock .... I ended at 68whp over stock 2-3 years ago before I blew the VVEL and I am sure it could go close to 90whp over stock. so im not bashing you but doing testing and proving what mods gives what has to be done correctly was that 318whp with the Z1 intake and over sized TB really tuned at 100% or just a quick tune as most tuner does. and then you installed the stillen header and ported lower intake it gave what 340 exactly ? with a tune? you never showed any dynosheet to put weight to your claim so I just want to believe but you aren't proving it right now. |

Can you give the specs of how much you bored from your TBs and where you got them done. and how much you extruded from the manifold?
what CAI are you running with your bored TBs? what other mods do you have? sorry for all the questions, just want to get a better idea of what could contribute to your gains. if 340 is legit, then you should consider cams next. |
