AAM exhaust

Does anyone have experience with this exhaust? I tried looking at other threads for it but cant seem to find one! Is it really loud or it more like a sporty sound? I seen videos on youtube but not many specific answer out there!!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/13/yhysygeq.jpg

If you search for "short tail" or "short tails" you will find lots of threads and info on them.

In short...they sound great, are loud, and can drone on the highway.

ANMVQ 08-22-2014 11:23 AM

I've heard then in person LOUD.

Roddy1 08-23-2014 06:53 PM

Had them. Loud, look at me I was neglected as a child muffler deletes. (I concede, they do sound pretty good but are rediculously loud)

aszyd 08-23-2014 07:01 PM

I disagree. They are not loud. I think am OEM muffler delete sounds great on this car. If you want loud, go with test pipes or LTHs and a 2.5" CBE. Once you remove the cats, then it's loud. Deafeningly loud from outside the car.

How do they compare to the washer mod? In quality of sound and amount?

Can explain to me whats a washer mod? I saw a video where a guy used it on a aam exhaust and sound awesome!!

PheeNoIVI 08-26-2014 12:07 PM

Its a mod where you space out the muffler from the pipes, so theres a little leak of exhaust

Yes the combo you mention is also loud, but still has mufflers in a CBE to eliminate some drone and might not be too bad off throttle.

I think your opinion is in the minority. Most people here agree that short tails, on an otherwise stock exhaust is loud, and too loud and too much drone for most. Could be why you see so many for sale.

I just put mine on my Nismo yesterday and holy **** they are amazing. Super loud about 3k rpm but cruising at 2.5k nice and quiet. Love the sound during acceleration, pure eargasm. There is a loss of torqe on the low end, but it doesn't bother me and makes shifting seem less grabby then with the stock muffler. All in all, as long as your in an area where cops don't care too much 11/10 would buy!
