Need help with exhaust and intake
ok guys, i recently bought a 2013 nissan 370z sports touring package. black with orange leather interior. it had only 7500 miles on it, got it for 30k cash. its a auto. the deal was too good to let it pass by.
i talked to my nissan dealer and he said intake and cat back exhaust won't void your warranty but i have to keep my stock cats in. How is the stillen gen 3 intake ? do you lose low end power compared to the stock ? I'm looking for a exhaust with a nice deep tone, no farting noise. Remember i have to keep my stock cats. fast intention non res or 12 inch or 18 inch ?? any other exhaust you might suggest ? - thanks guys |

Gen 3's for intake.
I have R2C intake and Ark Grip and couldn't be happier with the soundtrack. FI or Motordyne exhaust were the other 2 that I considered. I have FI non res test pipes on the way as well but I'm not worried about the stealership, and live in a County with no emissions. Hope this helps. |
Just got my new to me 370z too. I considered the FI too but ordered Ark grip because I did not want to wait. Good tone to my ears... low decibels.
G3 intake and a tune in the near future. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
What aaas the reasoning Nissan told you to keep your cats?

K&N Drop ins and an Axleback will yeild almost identical results to G3's and an overpriced cat back if thats all you are planning to do.
I don't see what the issue is with going to HFC's. Thats about the best bang for the buck on these cars. |
Modifying the stock emissions system is illegal. Nissan would never recommend a customer in that direction and will most likely void the warranty if they see that the cats have been changed or removed. Of course, YMMV depending on the dealer that you visit.
That being said, there should be no mechanical issues with making adjustments to the cats if you follow it up with a tune. These days most HFCs are made to not throw codes. |
