How much is a used ARK Grip worth?

As some of you may have seen in my other thread, I am in the market for a cheap catback... Last night a lightly used ARK Grip popped up on craigslist in my area and the seller is asking $1200.

That seems a little crazy to me considering a new one is just a hair more.

I've also seen used FI exhausts go for $700-$1000 depending on the the configuration....

Am I a total jackass for offering the guy $700? It is very lightly used, only 2k miles. He was very much not interested in entertaining my offer.

Try $900 plus 1 case of beer!

That's a little out of my price range, unfortunately! I really just want to know if I was offering an unreasonable amount.

Honestly, I don't even want to spend $700. The way I figure it, a used ARK exhaust will hold its value much better should I sell it in the future than a brand new CNT or Garageline exhaust would so the additional cost is more palatable.
Anyone else want to weigh in?

$700 is a crazy lowball offer for an exhaust used for 2k (if that's accurate). The going rate for a used one is about $900, I sold mine recently for $800 with roughly 10k miles on it and a few scrapes and dings.

I've never seen a used garage line sell because a new one is only $500 or something AFAIK.

Chances are when you sell the exhaust you'll recoup almost all that you spent for it if you're buying use. These items aren't really going down in price. Know how items go down in price? People entertain low ball offers and soon that becomes the norm. (Hint: That is not a good thing)

:iagree: Seriously if the exhaust is only used for 2k miles with no scratch or dings its a bargain for $800 to 900. The Ark is one of the best exhaust out there IMO!

I had mine for 2 years now with ARk HFC.
You said it yourself this things hold its value and then offer a $700 for a almost new ArK?? Doesn't make sense to me buddy.

Got it! Looks like it's out of my budget... Thanks for screwing my head on straight!

Sorry man! But its worth the investment.
You can probably get to a $700 cbe but the condition might not be as pristine.
The sound and looks of the ARk won me over vs FI.

I'll let you know if I decide to sell mine.

I paid close to 1200 for mine including shipping. Had 3k on it and a small scrape. Couldn't be happier.
