Soho Single exit on my 370z!!

Purchased and installed a SOHO motorsports single exit exhaust for my Z and just thought id share.

** I spoke with Nik at soho and he said he would give a group buy discount to the 370z members if you guys are interested. Give them a call at the shop for more info!**

pros: lightweight, made good hp and tq with the stock intakes, stock cats, and factory tune! sounds amazing, customer service was great, hand built quality is amazing, fitment is also spot on. Good clearance

Cons: Empty cutout, makes me want to stay in the gas and make lots of noise :nutswinger::vuvuzela:

The Pros definitely outweigh the Cons

Sounds good! Seems pretty aggressive from just light throttle.

Thanks. Yea, I wouldn't recommend this to the people who want something "quite" lol going through bridges and tunnels with this thing is amazing though. I feel like a kid again when I see a tunnel or bridge :driving: :happydance:

jaytirbhaw 07-10-2014 09:38 AM

nice and loud

kenchan 07-10-2014 10:50 AM

but then your z will look like those cheap 4 banger sedans which have cutouts for the exhaust tips on the bumper (for v6 versions) but nothing there on one side...

SS_Firehawk 07-10-2014 11:11 AM

Diff cooler would work nicely on the other side. I saw the vid a few days ago and was trying to figure out how you got it to fit, but it all makes sense now. Sounds good, but yes, stock Y pipe is garbage. One of theirs or a Motordyne Y pipe would ark great.

aszyd 07-10-2014 12:28 PM

Get rid of those cats.

I have FI LTHs and a Tomei Expreme Ti single side exhaust. It screams like a banshee at full throttle.

that's a good idea. it doesn't really bother me to have the empty cut out though. and yea that's what I have been seeing. If I get a dual exhaust it will change the ypipe as well then ill just buy test pipes and get soho to tune it again

That's funny, I got Z1 tests, and the rest of the tomie Ti also, put it on last night. Cant agree more. It is something that words cant describe and not for the faint of heart. It is like driving with a loaded gun out the back window, slightest blip of throttle and that damn thing, yeah no words..... I have to start the car with the garage closed so as not to piss the neighbors off too terribly bad and coast into the neighborhood also.

Yes indeed! I have to go very light on the throttle when leaving the neighborhood in the morning. I actually leave my garage as soon as I start the car because the cold start is crazy loud and takes a minute or two to tame itself. I don't want to wake my wife.:eekdance:

:rofl2::rofl2: I do the same ****! I leave the garage until its 60 second warm up is over. i have no resonator either so its loud as **** to have the cats and y pipe on it! damn it sounds good though... especially with sync rev ;):stirthepot::driving:

Nope, the car is my DD. Aside from the increased noise from a cold-start, the system is quite tolerable.

Where are you located in FL? I would like to that combo in person if not too far from me.

Aszyd, what did you dyno at with that exhaust set up and intakes?

I don't have a tune yet. I am waiting on ported throttle bodies and a ported lower manifold before I take it in.

Japanjay 07-14-2014 05:50 PM

Ah, I am going in on the 1st.

Very nice! Combine that with an aftermarket Y pipe and it will be a true catback. Perhaps they should consider optioning in an additional resonator on the long center pipe.

1slow370 08-29-2014 04:30 PM

Y PIPE BACK SINGLE MUFFLER FOR $700? My Berk full cat-back only cost me $900 and is basically double what you are buying here. If it were single 4" maybe i could see that but 3" pipe flows less than dual 2.5 there website says they picked up 8 whole horsepower with an exhaust AND tune.

you can get it with a resonator installed! they offer that too. and theyre installing their ypipe and dyno testing it soon as well...

my car made the 298 (4th) with just the exhaust and no tune. stock y pipe, stock cats and stock intakes.. from what i see the berk cat back and Berk high flow cats didn't even make that!! my car made much less power with the stock exhaust. its not a comparison to stock but he is showing the with just the y pipe back section the car made 306 at the wheels.

as for flow the y-pipe is the choke point on these vehicles no matter what size it is the y pipe will still restrict it. so unless you have a true dual 2.5 inch then you're not actually flowing more than a single three. The numbers dont lie man! i was very very surprised what my car made with just a y-back on it. also he didn't tune for power. i asked soho to smooth out my fuel table because it was leaning out at the top so he did. still has room for more! they have a 8XX rwhp g with a single exit exhaust i dont think we should be worried lol

as for the exhaust price i thought it was really good for the overall gains and sound

Japanjay 08-29-2014 05:12 PM

What was your stock whp number?

Gregor12 08-29-2014 05:16 PM

i didn't dyno mine stock. didnt get around to it but considering all 370z's put down 270-280 on a dyno jet stock i'm guessing it was around there!

I do have a true dual 2.5, almost every other exhaust on the market is dual 2.5 or dual 3" and his 8xxwhp car is DEFINITELY over single 3" capacity. A dual 3" picks 40-50hp over a dual 2.5" on turbo z's that are only in the 500whp range I couldn't imagine how choked that car must be. Hell a stillen exhaust picks up 10-15 hp NO "smoothing the fuel curve" needed. I used to know a guy with a supra and he went up almost 150hp when he threw out his single 3" it took him from 750-almost 900hp going to a 4" But regardless there was what a week of R&D and maybe $200 in parts in this? It's not even polished

Edit: I got to throw in that hes using an intake t bolt clamp instead of a real exhaust band clamp as well because a t bolt is $3 and a real accuseal clamp is $12

Lol man idk why you're hating on the exhaust so much. And no there aren't that many actual true dual exhausts on the market. Your exhaust joins at the xpipe right??. It is what it is. I liked it and bought it so I just thought I would share it. And they have a single 3.5 inch on the g. That's my bad. Regardless. I still made more power for less compared to the berk exhaust. And it weighs less. And 200 bucks seriously??? Go build your own custom exhaust and see how much money it will cost lol I'll buy there y pipe and test pipes and **** on the berk system haha 296 with high flow cats and a dual catback is a joke. I made more in 4th for a few hundred less dollars. That's what I wanted so that why I bought it. As for the clamp it's worked very well so far and it left no slack when I installed it. Jerked on the exhaust a few times to see if it would budge. Over all I'm impressed with the exhaust. Just my opinion

1slow370 08-29-2014 06:47 PM

Hey it's all opinion if it gets your rocks off go for it, but you paid too much. Here are what his cost should be on this Vibrant 1062 - $98, 5 ft of 3" 304 $110 with bends (or ~$60 if he gets them mandrel bent), T-bolt clamp $3, hardware $1, Flange $12, Gasket $3.25, and $30-50 overhead to pay someone to make 5 welds. So 250-270 and if goes with mandrel bending it will save roughly $100 a pipe. I could have this made with a beter muffler and tip, a vband instead of a coupler clamp, and get it polished for $250. Also an X pipe doesn't reduce the CSA of twin 2.5" tubing just as an FYI the pipes cross each other there is no choke it actually increases overall flow due to harmonics. I would not call that a finished version by a long shot if he made it better by putting a bit more work into the quality of it i would have no complaints but hey someone will pay for it.

SS_Firehawk 08-29-2014 09:06 PM

$700 isn't a terrible price. The gains aren't bad considering the stock Y pipe is like drinking out of a coffee straw. I love the sound of single exits, but it takes a hit on aesthetics compared to a dual. I still think it's helps having another player to choose from

Hey man sorry you feel that way. 700 bucks wasn't **** to me for a good sounding single exit exhaust that made 300hp and shredded some weight. You need to add about 150 more dollars at least to your list though. The muffler is 200. And 30 bucks? What you think. It all comes pre cut and lined up haha don't forget they have to pay to ship it and ****. I thought it was a good deal anyways. To each his own man. They brought something cool to our community. No need to bash it and act like they're ripping people off. It's 700 dollars for a good exhaust.

I agree with you on that. Once I buy the y pipe I think it will really open it up! I wanted a dual as well but it sounded awesome so I bought it haha

Sounds really good, the system however doesn't look too professional, kinda shoddy looking if you ask me
