Soho Single exit on my 370z!!
Purchased and installed a SOHO motorsports single exit exhaust for my Z and just thought id share.
** I spoke with Nik at soho and he said he would give a group buy discount to the 370z members if you guys are interested. Give them a call at the shop for more info!** pros: lightweight, made good hp and tq with the stock intakes, stock cats, and factory tune! sounds amazing, customer service was great, hand built quality is amazing, fitment is also spot on. Good clearance Cons: Empty cutout, makes me want to stay in the gas and make lots of noise :nutswinger::vuvuzela: The Pros definitely outweigh the Cons DYNO Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCLp...ature=youtu.be http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1vkg4r5l.jpg ****VIDEOS**** Video of the exhaust https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpJyUFmA940 Exhaust video riding in the car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sT8UX2JSwI Here are some photos of the finished PROTOTYPE http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/...ps24f7311c.jpg http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9758df57.jpg |
Sounds good! Seems pretty aggressive from just light throttle.

nice and loud
|
but then your z will look like those cheap 4 banger sedans which have cutouts for the exhaust tips on the bumper (for v6 versions) but nothing there on one side...
|
Diff cooler would work nicely on the other side. I saw the vid a few days ago and was trying to figure out how you got it to fit, but it all makes sense now. Sounds good, but yes, stock Y pipe is garbage. One of theirs or a Motordyne Y pipe would ark great.
|
Get rid of those cats.
I have FI LTHs and a Tomei Expreme Ti single side exhaust. It screams like a banshee at full throttle. |

Yes indeed! I have to go very light on the throttle when leaving the neighborhood in the morning. I actually leave my garage as soon as I start the car because the cold start is crazy loud and takes a minute or two to tame itself. I don't want to wake my wife.:eekdance: |

SOHO Motorsports Nissan 370Z Single Exit Catback Exhaust » SOHO Motorsports |
Very nice! Combine that with an aftermarket Y pipe and it will be a true catback. Perhaps they should consider optioning in an additional resonator on the long center pipe.
|
Y PIPE BACK SINGLE MUFFLER FOR $700? My Berk full cat-back only cost me $900 and is basically double what you are buying here. If it were single 4" maybe i could see that but 3" pipe flows less than dual 2.5 there website says they picked up 8 whole horsepower with an exhaust AND tune.

as for flow the y-pipe is the choke point on these vehicles no matter what size it is the y pipe will still restrict it. so unless you have a true dual 2.5 inch then you're not actually flowing more than a single three. The numbers dont lie man! i was very very surprised what my car made with just a y-back on it. also he didn't tune for power. i asked soho to smooth out my fuel table because it was leaning out at the top so he did. still has room for more! they have a 8XX rwhp g with a single exit exhaust i dont think we should be worried lol as for the exhaust price i thought it was really good for the overall gains and sound |
What was your stock whp number?
|
i didn't dyno mine stock. didnt get around to it but considering all 370z's put down 270-280 on a dyno jet stock i'm guessing it was around there!

Edit: I got to throw in that hes using an intake t bolt clamp instead of a real exhaust band clamp as well because a t bolt is $3 and a real accuseal clamp is $12 |

Hey it's all opinion if it gets your rocks off go for it, but you paid too much. Here are what his cost should be on this Vibrant 1062 - $98, 5 ft of 3" 304 $110 with bends (or ~$60 if he gets them mandrel bent), T-bolt clamp $3, hardware $1, Flange $12, Gasket $3.25, and $30-50 overhead to pay someone to make 5 welds. So 250-270 and if goes with mandrel bending it will save roughly $100 a pipe. I could have this made with a beter muffler and tip, a vband instead of a coupler clamp, and get it polished for $250. Also an X pipe doesn't reduce the CSA of twin 2.5" tubing just as an FYI the pipes cross each other there is no choke it actually increases overall flow due to harmonics. I would not call that a finished version by a long shot if he made it better by putting a bit more work into the quality of it i would have no complaints but hey someone will pay for it.

$700 isn't a terrible price. The gains aren't bad considering the stock Y pipe is like drinking out of a coffee straw. I love the sound of single exits, but it takes a hit on aesthetics compared to a dual. I still think it's helps having another player to choose from

Sounds really good, the system however doesn't look too professional, kinda shoddy looking if you ask me
