Does anyone in here live near charlotte? looking for a stock 370z to put on that dyno to see what kind of numbers it reads. I dont feel like putting my stock **** back on lol ill pay for three dyno pulls on your BONE STOCK Z

Wonder about that dyno's age. Sounded like 4th gear so you're not reading higher than others that use 5th (we should all use 5th) but that run took a long time! I only use SAE but to calculate my STD I'm doing 321hp. my run takes 9 seconds, yours took 12. Something tells me someones dyno is way off cause 3 seconds on the street just to redline 4th would be a massacre. No offense here.

I really hate going to this extent, especially since I spoke with sasha and the "pictures" are readily available on the internet if you just search. Now once you study these pictures, explain to me how this looks like it bolts to a factory exhaust, meaning that a single will work, and post the link where you found that it specifically states that it will work with factory. I could even go as far as posting this in ALL CAPS AS WELL TO GET THE POINT ACROSSSSSS!!!! I even drew in red arrows to clearly point to the 2 flanges, before those 2 flanges the driver side pipe catches the resurq from the wastegate, then the 2 pipes merge into one, which comes from the hot side of the turbine housing....

Unless you find another exhaust that has the IDENTICAL FLANGE DESIGN AND PLACEMENT YOU WONT JUST BE ABLE TO BOLT A BP KIT UP TO YOUR EXHAUST WITHOUT MODIFICATION. Which can be done and I would recommend it be done to the exhaust not the kit or it will make it a tough resale when you part out.... Just sayin

.

hey scott, let me clear things up haha i know this thread has turned into a cluster ****
First mod i purchased from soho motosports a while back was their rear section of the catback exhaust which uses the factory y-pipe. The first pull we did when it had no tune (factory) was in 4th gear (just to do a small pull then tighten down the straps again before fifth)

-it made 299.45rwhp and 24X lbft in 4th gear

Last week, I bought and installed their y-pipe replacing the factory POS y-pipe. strapped it down and did a 4th gear pull to compare to my last 4th gear pull. (this was a stock tune comparison)

- with y-pipe and y-back exhaust it made 313.4rwhp and 258.4lb/ft in 4th gear

So after that, nick did 3 5th gear pulls since 5th is 1:1. The video I posted was the last 5th gear pull we did of the day.

- with the exhaust and factory tune it made 320.46 rwhp and 269.09 lb ft (5th gear)

let me know if you have any other questions. as for the dyno being off I really don’t think so. they’ve had 3 annual dyno days there and nobody was reading high comparing to their previous dyno tunes.

ill ask nick for SAE numbers as well for a comparison. and SOMEONE FIND ME A STOCK Z lol

Gregor12 02-16-2015 12:52 PM

this is what i made 299 with in 4th gear

http://sohomotorsports.com/wp-conten...y-1024x349.jpg

then i added this piece and made 313 in 4th gear and 320 in 5th

I counted 3 gear changes before WOT but if he was in 2nd then no I don't think anythings off. Also explains the 12 second run.

What soho exhaust do they make that works with turbos

i believe most of their cars run a full catless 3 inch. on davids 8XX rwhp G horsepower they’re using a full 3.5 inch. I dont work for soho or anything they’re just a local shop that has always done the work for me, my family, and friends. They’re stand up guys

just noticed that lol and yes he was in 2nd. I started the camera right after he switched gears. ill be sure to get you guys a baseline. i know soho wants one to so they can compare

Joepro 02-16-2015 10:51 PM

The only thing that matters is the difference between runs with the different parts, but its true the setup on the dyno means a lot, as well as the correction weather etc...A true comparison would have been on the same day...so IMO that dyno reads high, but it does not really matter, congrats for breaking 320 whp for that amount of cash, took me a lot more and a tune from one of the best in the biz!

thanks Joe, i will do a baseline with my car and a stock Z on another day at the same time. I will settle this once and for all. no one else is running a single 3 inch exhaust so it may just be that it makes more power than a dual set up with 6 bends in it lol

heres a Z that made 312 with just a cat back I’m only 8hp above that

Couple noob questions..

Can I get some pictures of the clearance in the rear? I know Tomei hangs low.

If I grab a Y Pipe and this catback, what's left with the exhaust to modify?

Is their any kits for the Z that has a single exit for the back? I was thinking this won't look bad with amuse.

NoLaKrewe,

as for clearance i think you’ll be fine. its tucked up very well and probably has the same amount of clearance as the factory exhaust.

Only thing left to modify or change would be the test pipes and headers. or you could just buy the rear section that bolts to the factory y-pipe if you’re just looking for sound or looks.

when it comes to kits I’m not sure whats out there. the amuse doesn’t have cutouts so i dont think it would look bad. Good luck sir!

Phil
