New 370Z owner wanting info on Stillen G2
Hi all, I just bought a 2009 370Z Touring edition in blue and totally love the car. Im coming into this car from the Audi TT and I am pleased to this point. I see that Stillen has the G3 intakes but I dont want to get them but like the G2 instead. Are they any good? I couldnt find anything on them in here. I dont want to take bumber off so G3 is out. If not the G2 which is the best SRI? Ive also been looking at an oil cooler as I have already seen some high temps. Thanks.

SRI do nothing in this car, to much heat from the engine to produce good results.
Your only real option is a CAI system which currently is only Stillen Gen 3 or Injen.

I'm surprised you were not able to find any information. There has been a lot of discussion on them. Most people consider short intakes a waste of money. They don't give much HP because of the high heat under the hood.

Very easy, just take the bumper off and they are there. The bumper removal takes maybe 10 minutes the first time you do it and goes downhill after that. Oil cooler I am not sure, do you plan to track the car or just spirited street driving?

I do alot of spirited street driving and have already seen temps up to 250, not sure if that is hurting anything or not. Or taking power away? I have read in that really long thread that some say they lost power with the G3, any truth to this?

I thought I was the only one who has lost power from a mod so far. For street driving any good quality oil cooler will do fine for you then, Stillen has two currently, one larger for track and another slightly smaller.

Its the post on the G3 on the 1st page and it may be you that I saw with the losst power. So you are the only one so far? And the lose was from the G3s? I can feel the heat from the engine with the hood up and its hotter than from my old TT with the turbo heating things up. But man I love the way this car pulls. And sounds.

There are many threads
Involving oil coolers under "high engine temps" and elsewhere. This was thought to be a large problem but it appears that many temps go down after a few thousand miles. If temps remain high, the Stillen or other smaller coolers should be adequate for spirited street driving. On the mods such as intakes, I think Semtex's posts describing each mod and the gains is an excellent read to get an idea of what mod gives what gains. There is also a post on another board of the installation with pics of the Stillen G-3 and its gains. There is starting to be a lot of information out there for the 370Z.
