I suggest since you do not like to cut anything to run no filters like me. You wont have those stupid filters impeding your airflow. And man let me tell you the noise enhancement you will receive is hands down the best mod ever. It blows every other CAI out of the water in performance and sound. It sounds like one of those beast (the one you are thinking about right now in your head) that will keep you up at night. It will give you chills when you hear it as well as sending mass unrestricted air to your engine. And the VQ will reward you when you stomp on that skinny pedal with a nasty snarl as those rpm's start climbing.
This is a top secret mod so just keep this between you and me. Let all those other people worry about things like long tube CAI's and cutting stuff. We don't have time for that nonsense. This is all you need to do. Lose those filters and let the Z free ball if you know what I am saying. Unleash the beast!

I went with the Takeda CAI long tubes, no cutting, hardest part of the install was getting the bumper off and you save quite a bit of money over the Stillens for a couple of horsepower. If you're talking bang for your buck just compare horsepower to cost, Stillens are the most popular yet the cost to horsepower is quite high. I don't plan on racing my car, just want to do some mods cause it's my car so paying an extra $100 + for a product that gets 2 or 3 more horsepower doesn't make much sense to me. The key though is it's your car, if we all followed the same path this site wouldn't exist.

Air filters are very real, and serve a real purpose. In a previous life, I had a high compression 2.0 B series Honda civic hatchback, for track day/road course duty and the street. I had an individual throttle body setup. So its basically 1 throttle body per cylinder. Lots n lots of flow, insane throttle response. 90% of the time I ran with no air filters. The amount of filth would turn the engine oil BLACK in 500 miles. If you're not being sarcastic, I feel sorry for whoever buys that car from you some day if you run no filters for a long time.

This isnt exactly a hotbed of high level automotive discussion lol I've seen theories and posts that are frightening. People talking about getting tires re-balanced after installing lowering springs.

I guess next time I better label my post. My first post in this thread was serious, however. Then it kept going in directions that were questionable. So I decided to go in my own path.
I assure you I am running an air filter. I didn't write that signature line for fun.

I have the takeda CAI. The restriction from the bending you have to do to the silicon connectors to fit them through is pretty huge and due to that, the bottleneck seems greater than stock, although they are probably less restrictive everywhere else.
Because of this, I cut out space for them last year so they could be round. Just for peace of mind. I then got the car tuned and made good power but power dipped a bit at the top couple hundred rpm. I didn't care too much since the rest of the curve was good and full, but if you really care about peak numbers, it's something to keep in mind. I also had other mods though, like a single HFC at my XYZ pipe, which may have also been the cause. Definitely enjoy mine though, and I got it for $200 cheaper than the Gen 3 from Stillen. But if you want the best, I think Stillen's is still the most recommended.
