Stillen G3 Intake
Hello Folks,
I recently just got my baby Kim, shes a 2013 370z 6 manual, and i want to start adding mods to it of course around my budget. I found that many people are running with the the Stillen g3 CA intake, little did i know that its runs you about $550.00. Now, keep this in mind i am not a mechanic, I know a bit about cars but not that much to the point where you can have a technical talk with a mech so please keep your answers simple. Any ways what do you guys think, is the Still CA worth it, if it is why?? and what other mods can i do to get started. Thanks for the time, and i apologize if this thread questions had been opened before. Sincerely Jayy T |

If you dont want to pay for the g3, you could get k&n filters and smooth tubes. They are much cheaper and are almost as good as g3. other mods include swift springs to lower the car and a good cbe

most people here have Fast Intentions, but there are hundreds you can choose from. look at the stickies in the Intake/Exhaust thread to see a bunch of videos of various exhausts. Personally, Powerhouse Amuse is my favorite, but you gotta be rolling in dough to get the full exhaust system.

you could get the gen 3 for way under 550... i think i paid 440 for mine, but i have yet to get it installed. and i went with the stillen exhaust as well. it's not raspy or loud. when you punch it, it gives a deep tone. which is what i like. also, the exhausts aren't cheap at all if you are saying 550 for the intake is a little much

I'm going to chime in here because I too have been thinking about a CAi but I don't understand the price difference from an Injen to a AEM as they appear to be the same. Maybe I should ask in the correct forum but if anyone can answer this while we are on the topic I would appreciate it, thanks OP

^^ when tuned i believe you get the most whp from stillen gen3, but if you have other mods the amount of whp you get starts decreasing... that's what i have been told so far and saw from reading other threads

As I posted in another thread I got the Takeda CAI long tube for $400 shipped. I didn't want to spend the time grinding metal and I'm not planning on racing it so price is more of an issue than horse power. I believe the difference between a Stillen and Takeda is about 3-5 horsepower but $150 in my bank account and less time installing is what sold it for me. My advice, search around, there are a lot of different websites with different prices for the same product. I'm a believer in looking for free shipping and not paying sales tax and I'll try to find a shipper located in the same state to increase speed of delivery and less damage. I've worked for FedEx and UPS, if you guys think your boxes are treated special because it's a car part or there are multiple fragile stickers on it you've never been inside a hub of these companies before.

OP, Stillen claims a 17hp gains (@ the wheels). From what has been posted by owners on independent dynos, those stats are pretty close. It will net you a good amount of power without having to run a tune. There's a ton of threads with bolt on setups that use the Gen 3's. It's well worth it for the price. You're really talking about two intakes here, which understandably doubles the price. It's gonna come down to preference. The other long tube intakes available each have their drawbacks too, but the Gen 3's are definitely one of the best bang for the buck. Just make sure you follow installing the intake perfectly. There were issues with them rubbing on the AC lines if you don't place something to protect them.

Some will say its worth it others will say just go with the drop ins and MAF tubes. I'm in the second group. Factory intake is pretty good as it sits, and drop ins are the best bang for the buck pretty much.

The car is very good from the factory NA wise. If the cost doesn't bother you G3 is one of best you can get. BUt its not going to be a huge or even moderate change to the feel of the car. 17HP/283HP= ~6% change.
