looking to get a g3 next as well thanks for all the positive reinforcement. I just installed my FI exhaust and HFC. Should I get uprev after the intake, any gains, worth it?

My only regret is reading regret threads. Turns out there's nothing to regret about.

OP enjoy your intakes. Make sure they install the pc that protect the AC lines and check to your satisfaction before they put the bumper back on. You'll hear her suck up all the air when you floor it.

I have this specific question to. I'm going to do those 3 mods, no more and no less and I'm curious. I'm assuming most people would say to go ahead and get it tuned.

It's not an inexpensive choice though.

I got it installed today.. paid about $200 for the installation, no rattling or anything. Hard to see the gains without doing :Ddyno... that will come after I install a couple other things :D

Tune isn't necessary, but will get you the most gains from those mods.

for those who claim to "only do 3 mods".....I strongly suggest you run away from this page . Mods are an addiction , with the increased power you will want more control and better stoping. You may also find yourself wanting to hit the accelerator pedal a wee bit harder and take that fun turn a little bit more aggressively. Once that kicks in there's no turning back. You will find yourself buried in wheels & tires and then suspension section on this site. By then it's too late, like the mafia you try to get out but something draws you back in. I know stillen gen 3's are the way to go, but I gotta say, my AEM's are very comparable. Install was simple. Cutting was not required. They sound great. The pipes are bigger in diameter themselves. The only real compromise is the maf reader box thing, which I have not had a problem with at all. With a new tune and jumping this box, im willing to say id have better gains with this AEM intake over a stillen.

There is no 12 step program for you to kick the habit.

Dollar for Dollar and bang for the buck, I've heard that K&N drops ins do everything the G3's do except for about 3hp and some noise. But I dont have any dyno sheets or personal experience on my own car to back this up only a friend who did these mods and stated he couldnt not feel a difference on the butt dyno. I rode in his car also, they sound louder but thats it. You decide; $75 on a pair of drop ins or a couple hundred for the G3's.

ive also heard that running jet fuel in your car makes it faster, but we all know thats not 100% true

drop in filters do not add power, if you gain any power, its from you going from a dirty filter to a clean one, all drop in filters are good for are not having to replace your air filter as often and you can clean it instead of replacing it
