What if we cut the tips off the Top Speed axleback all together and put new ones on, that are not as long.

You might have missed one of the points in this thread. Alot of people want to buy this axleback but it is intended for the NISMO 370Z, so when its installed on the regular 370Z the tips stick out almost 2 inches past the rear bumper.

WP_20140501_009.jpg The tips that come on it are about 6.5" from the weld to end of the tip on top and 5.5" from the weld to the end of the tip on the bottom.. WP_20140501_006.jpg WP_20140501_007.jpg or like someone else suggested, possibly replacing the section of pipe between the canister and the exhaust flange... it would just have to be a much more extreme angle so the tips still line up with the exhaust cutouts on the bumper... Making that angle to the muffler even more sharp, is only going to further bottleneck exhaust flow?

hmmm I wouldn't think so... figure its still the same diameter and a smooth bend, plus its shorter... extreme might have been a strong word lol, just more of an angle

Angles are the enemy.

O ok I gotcha. What I'd do then is remount the hangers and take like an inch or two out of any pipe that's straight. Maybe a mid pipe section? That way you won't mess with angles or bends.
