I need help With a Setup, Questions

So if i get the Berk HFC's all i need is the CBE? isnt there a third part to the system? Do i need a certain length of piping? if i just have the lets say an Invidia Gemini CBE with Berk HFC is there anything else that i may need?

Chuck33079 04-24-2014 08:29 AM

The cat back exhaust replaces everything aft of the cats. All you need are the HFCs and a CBE.

Now if i just got the AAM short tails and Berk HFC am i missing a piece?
Im going to assume that a CBE comes with the cats AND exhaust?

Chuck33079 04-24-2014 08:36 AM

No, A cbe is a cat back exhaust. Everything aft of the cats. If you get the short tails you need more parts. Get a cat back and HFCs and that's replaced every bit of pipe other than the headers.

ahh i c ok, now would a invidia gemini CBE that was on a g37 fit my car? Also if i wanted headers what do they actually do for my car?
And where to i send money for the lessons :)

Only long tube headers are worth the cost. You will not be able to run cats with long tube headers. A G37 cat back will not fit as the mid pipe is too long.

dangit. Ok thanks ill be looking for a cbe then.

:iagree:

What Chuck said. The entire intake and exhaust system for the Z and G (coupe) are identical save the following two items:

- The G mid-pipe is longer
- The Z y-pipe has a larger O.D. at the cat connection but all flanges are the same size and in exact same location

good to know thanks jwick!
