Stock vs Nismo

I am in the uk and there is no choice yet for exhaust systems. The first around is likely to be the Nismo system. Anyone got opinions? Should I wait until other systems imported or produced here.

Nismo exhaust yields small gains in comparison with all the other exhaust makers. I want to say 4hp gain over stock with a nismo exhaust.

screw that man... just pay the shipping and get a nice one - you will be the only one with it and uniqueness is always a plus in my book

You have a vast selection over there. Let's have some ideas. I looking for something that suits the look of the car, not excessively noisey cruising but a bit of grit when giving it the beans. + a bonus of a decent power gain.

forget the nismo, just soak the shipping cost and bring one of the options we have here. or if you're really feeling it, go for one of the JDM ones....but that's $$$$$!

Get Stillen, supposedly they got like 18 wheel hp gains. Nismo is about as futile as adding a "TRD" sticker to your Toyota.

Nismo plays it SAFE by yielding low hp gains because it works in conjunction w/ the factory warranty and Nissan is liable for any dealer installed Nismo parts.

The only hp-factory parts in my experience is Honda Type-R. Civic type R cams, header, etc. make real HP for Honda cars.

Stille +1 I love mine.

Would fitting an aftermarket system invalidate the totally invalidate the warrenty?

only if your exhaust causes the problem like if it is too close to the car and starts a fire they won't cover it. I usually go into the dealership i'll have the work done at and ask them first before i bring the car there because different dealerships decide it differently.

check out FAST INTENTIONS if you want the HP GAINS & an EXOTIC sound to your car.

Agreed, while you might have to wait awhile for it, so far, confirmed by independent dynos, its made the largest gains. Looks and sounds great too! Mind you, its cheaper than the nismo also.

^^ yep. NISMO exhaust is trash on the z34 imho

Excellent advice, I have mailed them and hope for a favourable reply.

Making the decision on power/torque figures is asy 'cos you can look at dyno figures. Trying to decide on sound is difficult. You can listen on U-Tube but all the recordings are taken in different conditions - bit pot luck.

Mail is nice if they send you back a letter that is favorable then you can hold it against them later. I'm going to say that they are probably not going to send you a letter that actually says they will allow it though as they know it can be held against them. I usually end up going in and asking the service manager if he cares or reports that kind of thing when they file a warranty claim.

I would be going the fast intentions exhaust no contest ! I am in Australia and me and 2 other 370z owners here ordered ours about 3 weeks ago and are expecting to take delivery in the next 7 days ! Cant wait ! Fast intentions have awesome gains and in terms of the sound... unbeatable !!
