Official Custom Exhaust Thread & Dyno #'s
It seems as though the370z has NO thread for custom exhaust builds -
If you have a custom exhaust or built a custom exhaust but added name brand components - please post pictures, info, and DYNO charts if you have any! For example, Stock Cats + 2.5" Piping + AAM Short Tails/Top Speed Axleback or Test Pipes + 2.5" Piping with 12" Resonators added + Custom Tips... There are plenty of exhausts out there for our cars, and not everyone has the $600-2500 for a quality exhaust laying around. I know going with a name brand is obviously the wiser choice the majority of the time, but I am sure there are some of us who have gotten great gains from a custom 2.5" straight pipe setup or crazy X Pipe configuration. Any of you guys build a decent setup? Anyone have any stats to prove it? Youtube videos for sound?

I'll be first.
Some "eBay" LTH garage line told me was a prototype made for them by someone , topspeed X pipe with the factory resonators custom installed as Helmholtz to kill the rasp the LTH produced, 18" vibrant inline resonators in the mid pipe installed, and straight piped back. The cheap way I did it was take a straight pipe and cut slits into the pipe which removed material, then I bent the pipe to touch where the slit was and welded it back together (no bender). I'll have to get more pics after I clean up the thick mig welds (not stainless wire and 0.035" thick) and get it all custom black ceramic coated. Hope your speakers are better than my ipad because its way deeper and better in person. Cold start http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoL-2lHP5NQ&sns=em Hot start and rev to 3k, 4k, 5k. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg8xjNUmuII&sns=em LTH, custom CBE, custom cai with Z1 post tubes, rpf1 wheels, no tune, LTH vs stock and cats. Coating by IPS.

SYNO - That exhaust is like Frankenstein. So ugly but I love it and I've never seen resonators added like that to our system. Almost thought they were ugly ART pipes for a second. Are you going to be able to trim down some of those welds? Also, did you have a number from your baseline dyno before adding exhaust?
Can't wait! Givin' up F.I for a custom route... or maybe keeping F.I and adding more!? *Bites Nails... We shall wait.

Yeah ill smooth them out and then ceramic coat it. Here's a smooth vs unsmooth on a piece of pipe. Also only before and after I have is LTH vs stock. Everything else was the same. Coating by IPS.

right now i have top speed axle backs with top speed test pipes with the stock nismo h and mid pipe
i was thinking about buying the megan racing drift spec midpipe(2.5in agency power replica) for $370(connects everything from the test pipes back to the axles) and having an exhaust shop weld in a pipe creating a h pipe so its like the OEM nismo pipe or the AAM sline midpipe

Nothing radical about the CBE combo I have except for the custom tips. I'm running Berk HFC's into an HKS Hi-Power CBE to the Laser cut custom tips by Fringe XVO.

I went straight dual to the stock muffler but getting resonators installed this weekend to take the bite out of it. It sounds good at idle but a bit fart cannish when you hit the throttle and loud.
I will take a video of it once everything is completed. Butt dyno feels there is a little more throttle response and there may be interest in the stealth mode of a true dual exhaust system. Pics and videos soon.

Z is currently on the rack so more updates and pics to come hopefully within the next day or two.

someone took a vid of my car. thought id post it up to show the sound while actually driving. im the 2nd white car. you can hear me pull out at 5 and 13 seconds and go WOT at 29 seconds going through 1st and 2nd gear. that driveway was probaly 80 feet long maybe and i pulled out into the second furthest lane and went for it. lol its pretty far away by the time im in second and you can still hear me pretty good from a phone facing the other direction haha.
