PS, the back to back dynoing for the parts and testing is still going down the 30th. My tune is different even though I have all the same parts but they are already installed and tuned for. We are just checking the tunes health. Tuner was nice enough to discount some of the work. Stay tuned mostly for the 30th though!!!!

Cant wait for dyno run ! I am down for the set up as long as we see good gains on the dyno (I feel like it would) Keep us posted! Thanks

Sadly this will come to and end. I've responded to trips as seen below and as you can read I'm sure you all can understand. There's no point in me doing this if I have to raise my rates only to cover fees. Why buy milk at the store when you have the cow at home for free!

While I have to it seems this is going to hurt everyone now sadly. I started this before Z1 and I'm only trying to help people. I'm not in this for the money. I make almost nothing doing this!! By the time I ship, answer 100 emails, the $20 is nothing. If I raise my rates to get my $20 back because I have to pay vender fees then everyone can just go do this themselves. Everyone knows I use MaXbore for the porting. I'm saving them money by doing this because I'm a retuning customer and he's making all the money. If I have to raise my rates because of vender fees then no one will use me anymore and just go staight to the source. This isn't fair to any of us as a community.

Scott,

I appreciate all the hard work you have done to make this available to the Z community. I've noticed more intake mods coming out ever since you started this thread I think it's awesome more people are contributing to the "mod bug". IMHO if I had enough people on the sidelines wanting to get this modification done then I would inflate the price. Look at your competition out there their prices are very outrageous. On the other end of the spectrum if you just want to avoid the headache I totally understand as well. No matter what your choice is I really appreciate your help.

Thanks for the reply and you're welcome!!

You are correct, the competition doesn't stand a chance but I think anyone here could find a local machine shop or call MaXbore to get this done. If I raise prices then I don't see why they wouldn't just go to him direct and save some money except the fact that I'm more convenient. If the customer does it himself he'll have to take everything off, ship it, and then wait a good two weeks to get everything back. So I guess it could be worth it for me to raise the price a little bit but being winter I'm sure a lot of people here would be okay with waiting two weeks to get them back. Idk I'm still on the fence about this. 1-2 sets a month I've been doing doesn't even cover the vender fees here. If I have to pay more vender fees on more forums then it's over. I can't swing that. Hell I'm already in trouble buying all the over head I can't sell now. Maybe Z1 wants 8 sets of TB's and uppers and lowers :)

EZT 11-20-2014 10:21 AM

Did I miss something somewhere? Syno, I am guessing this awesome deal is coming to an end relatively soon due to vendor fees?

Yes and no. I mean they locked my FS thread so it's dead for awhile till they lock this if I keep talking about it.

I have paid sponsorship. If I can change my name I'll now be Scott@SynergyComposites and my partner will be Shawn@SynergyComposites who will be doing the porting and also can make anything out of prepreg carbon fiber!! That's dry carbon fiber if you didn't know. Unlike a lot that use fiberglass backing with only a layer or two of wet carbon, he uses the real stuff! Prepreg needs a autoclave and its how all supercars parts and bodies are made. My first item we are looking into is a Full CF GT wing! Stands and all! Stay tuned!

PS, example below!

Ill have to get on that.

Some small stuff to start...3D canards and nose inlets for CAI, more air to the top of the radiator, or whatever you can think of.

FL 4Motion 11-21-2014 11:43 PM

How about prepreg cf nismo rc brake duct knockoffs that are sized to match up to the stillen brake ducting kit w/o needing to fab up anything?

Cf IM manifold that's already got the porting for better flow ala z1 etc already in the design? Pretty and functional.

I'll pass that along, good ideas though. I'd like a set myself.

this is not the dyno going down on the 30th but today is the day im going back to see the tunes safety!!!! again wish me luck!!

Here we go!!!!

synolimit 11-22-2014 03:42 PM

And so far we found why the last dyno was so low and the car made no HP with the porting...the cars knocking and is in a lower "safe" map. For whatever reason target AFR was 12.8 but running 13.5 with a lot more timing then he normally runs. We are adding fuel and having another run.

370Z JT 11-22-2014 03:45 PM

good luck!

Picked up 14hp and 10tq at the end. Not bad for just a retune showing tuner vs tuner. Cars not knocking and its allowing to pull the whole way. I'm thinking yearly checkups from here on out though and E85 to come!!

Fyi, STD that everyone else shows

impressive gains. Have you been on this dyno before to compare numbers?

No, I showed up, ran, tune, ran again till it was done. IPS dyno I do have 3 different times on it and it showed almost the same numbers a month ago on the old tune as this first pull. They showed 302/246. This base was 298/250 so good for dynojet being consistent.

Masterbeatty 11-23-2014 05:00 PM

Nice dude! Car sounds sweet too.

great my friend and well done

Hey Scott,

I couldn't remember but was this with the TB's and Lower ported?

Yes

So I've decided to pay for a locals uprev license to get this moving along (cheaper than you think :) ). We will be tuning his G37 as is right now with CAI, HFC and CBE. I will then be adding my parts, do a base run to see what they do alone, and tune again. So all of you that have been waiting, wait no longer.

As I thought talking with the tuner these parts WILL show the greatest gains for FI guys! So if 500hp isn't enough then come see me. The tune is setup for November 30th at 3pm at Covert Tuning in Columbus, which by the way, nice cars! Currently 4 TT Lambos sitting around with 100% CNC custom manifolds with integrated BOV's, 4" intake pipes, CNC exhausts, headers etc etc.

Stay tuned.

what does a lambo engine pic have to do with a price question......

are you saying it costs that much? on that note i'm good.

I didn't anwser your question as you can see that date has not come yet.

If you were happy to go see a osu game on Sunday would you not post a pic of the stadium or something showing osu pride? Would it not be weird if I asked you the score of a game that hasn't happended yet? Would you not retweet your previous post showing me the date as I asked a dumb question?

no idea where you were going with that but yes i see the date has not come yet.

but i meant more along the lines of what was spent to get your car to where it is (port/polish upper/lower) and what was the avg gain in your dyno sheets you just recently posted.

I don't see how you never understand analogies but you can't fix ******.

What I spent is irrelevant since again you fail to read this was tuner vs tuner and a dyno I've never been on. There is no way you can tell anything from all of this except my old tune needed fixed. What you want again will be done the 30th!

did you not spend money on services/parts to get your car to this point with these mods to the TB/upper/lower manifolds?

are you not attmepting to sell the same services/products?

i'm curious as to a general figure of dollars spent vs. the numbers produced by the dyno sheets that you have already posted.

now scotty what is so difficult about what i just asked? no stupid analogies needed.

synolimit 11-24-2014 01:57 PM

I made everything so $0 :)

whats your possible pricing going to be then?

for someone who dropped the coin on a vendor account, and all the other stuff, you would think that you would have some sort of busniess strategy in mind by now.

I do, it's called the 30th. Not sure why things dont sink in with you. I also have a FS thread, again you and all know this. Pricings normally in a FS thread and not in a engine thread.

One day young grasshopper, maybe one day for you!

Masterbeatty 11-24-2014 04:18 PM

Well since your in the bidnis of making stuff in cf and porting stuff, maybe you can join the race to make a badass intake manifold that makes decent gains.

I talked with Shawn on this. I'll post his reply. It's to rich for my blood but if you guys got the cash I'll see if he's interested. PS, the ducts he's talking about are Nismo brake ducts that are $612 each, so buy one get one free

"A real prepreg cf manifold replicated like the stock one would be boku bucks since it is a 3 piece constuction already it would take a very complicated mold that would have to be done using Cnc cut billet aluminum and a digital scan from OEM prepreg is your only option on a part like this and bare minimum probably 3 grand. That's a maybe price if I had 10 buyers. That's probably just to cover costs of making a mold for the most part. The ducts could be replicated like that a lot less I think if someone was willing to pay $600 for a set would be do able. Those ducts are nice"

Masterbeatty 11-24-2014 07:13 PM

Damn I would have to impreg Oprah to afford that. Lol. It would be a nice one off bragging rights piece though.
