We took a showroom stock G37S and dyno'd it at 290WHP. Added nothing more than this exhaust and dyno'd it at 312WHP.

We were just as amazed as you guys! When we did an actual dyno tune, we got even more horsepower out of it.

what dyno did you use? most people don't see anything close to 290whp stock your numbers already sound 15-25hp to high for stock……..

who cares what stock made on other dyno

Gains is what you should really look for not HP dyno vs other dyno

but if the dyno is reading high to begin with then the numbers will be off from the start

The dyno is measuring what it is supposed to. The difference between the baseline and successive runs is what counts. Who cares if it is a dynopack, dynojet, or mustang? Leave it at being a tool for measuring the results of a given modification..........

One thing is for certain though........on a NA VQ, it will loose bottom end in a trade off for more mid and top end.

</offtopic>

My first dyno was on a dynopack. My successive dynos were on a dynojet. A baseline was done each time and the result of tuning (or whatever) were reviewed afterward.

I understand this as I have uprev and tune on mine. but 290whp stock seems a little to high IMO

I aalways consider vendor products with caution. We all know there's gotta be hype for the "new and improved" product which seems similar to the others already out there. I certainly hope you get the advertised numbers. Just research the company.... and take it from there.

I feel you, but I don't even look at those numbers like that anymore.

I usually don't defend companies selling a product on the forums, but AAM has been around for quite some time. The offered a 3" R-Line exhaust before and it was pretty beastly. I would have had the R-Line IF I didn't already work the deal to acquire the Fast Intentions 3" offering.

These mufflers aren't angled downwards like the fast intentions, are they? I'm lowering my z 1.5-1.75" and would not like to scrape them

I must say that I am interested in this, as well as the 2.5" True-Dual and the S-Line Midpipe with Short Tails. I haven't really made my mind up at this point, I'm hoping that these sound as good as the other 2 systems (kind of hard to tell in the G37 video).

As I understand it, AAM previously had a 3" exhaust but is no longer available partially for being too loud on NA cars? How will the sound levels differ on this new model, is it quieter due to the resonators?

I love the way the Short Tails sound in video clips but I am thinking they may be a little too noisey coming home at 2am after a night out and going to work in the morning. The 2.5" True Dual is probably just fine sound levels for me, if the 3" True Dual fits in-between the Short-Tails with Midpipe and the 2.5" True Dual, that is probably a-ok but I may be hesitant if it is at short-tail level or louder (since most 3" exhausts are pretty darn loud).

I don't plan to go FI any time soon but judging from the dyno chart, it doesn't look like low-end torque drop off is too horrible. I suppose if low-end torque was a high priority I wouldn't have gotten a 370Z in the first place.

THIS X1000

Dynos are tuning devices, meant to measure gains, not actually measure WHP

a dyno operator can make numbers say anything you want them to
