I browsed for an intake thread already open but didn't see it. Thanks for the reply!

Stillen

luigi90210 08-01-2013 08:13 PM

i think it is all a waste of money since its just a pipe with a filter on it

imo DIY intakes would be the best so Modshack's intakes or Post MAF tubes and k&N Drop-ins

synolimit 08-01-2013 08:42 PM

The one you make for cheap and don't blow $500+ on.

Just to be honest some people want the stuff under their hood to look nice. I mean this isn't a $3k Honda here... Just my .02

NickShoelace 08-01-2013 10:16 PM

Yeah, I don't plan to jimmy-rig some makeshift intake. I do want everything inside and out to look clean and be legit. So I'm thinking Stillen G3 CAI it is.

It's all a matter of priorities. Some people will spend $2k on a Ti cai. Most people buy a Stillen g3. Some people will DIY. I've got $10 that says everybody ends up within 5 whp of each other.

:iagree: even WITH the variable of different dynos, lol

SS_Firehawk 08-01-2013 10:22 PM

I would rather pick up AAM's... Not mentioned here but has a very similar design as G3's and has a novel sleeve that will size down the maf for untuned guys and you remove it when you get your car tuned.

Then again... this thread is very redundant

Chuck33079 08-01-2013 10:30 PM

There's no " best" anything when it comes to NA mods. Once you do all the usual bolt ons and tune, you'll be around 320-330 whp after a tune no matter what brand you buy.

Well polished aluminium pipe vs polished aluminium pipe with black silicone couplings looks the same to me. This isn't a 3k Honda but spending $500+ for pipe that you can't see half of it because its in the front bumper is crazy. The Z1 post tubes and exposed pipe will look nice and its cheap.

I have K&N's.....With super awesome dryer duct in the front grill that feeds air to the air boxes. Goes through the lower corners of the fangs. Put some funnels that go into the dryer duct directly into my K&N intake boxes. It looks terrible.....so what? Wanna fight about it?
