Again, this is only just in R&D stages, so limited updates as of yet. Details in thread.

interesting, subd.

Things I would be looking for:

air flow
gains
heat soak
sound
throttle response
ease of filter maintenance
hydrolock
cost

Is it plug n play ? or tune required?

ok im not really feeling like removing the bumber since its a brand new car and i just dont wanna touch it get everything all loose and misaligned. so if i go the short ram route which intake is the best in terms of hp gains?

lemon-fresh 08-31-2012 10:32 AM

dont go short ram, just do maf tubes and filters:

Probably have to read thru the gazillion pages on the thread above. Sorry I do not know. I started reading the thread a long time and never finished it. Maybe post the question on that thread for a quick reponse.

That combo will net you 5-8whp at the most.

lemon-fresh 08-31-2012 02:40 PM

After factoring in all the heat soak that the short rams will be susceptible to, the gains should be around the same for half the cost. Although it won't sound as cool.

Thorazine_IM 08-31-2012 02:41 PM

5-8?? efff that im just gonna go stillen gen 3 and remove the damn bumper and get around 17 to the wheels correct??

ZForce 08-31-2012 03:07 PM

Yup

lemon-fresh 08-31-2012 03:27 PM

past 7000rpm yea

If you plan on doing a bunch of other breather mods (exhaust, cats) you'll probably get minimal gains with any intake solution.
You'll have to remove the bumper yearly.

No, it's more than that...

Assume another 3-4 with the tubes.
