Stillen headers / hi flow cats

Hello guys, I have a couple of questions. I was thinking about buying the stillen headers and high flow cats. Are they really worth the money? The only thing I'm worried about is if I buy the high flow cats and they trigger the O2 sensors and my check engine light stays on, how do I get it off? Also, any proven dyno results in HP and TQ gains? Thanks for the input!!

The headers are a waste of money. Most HFCs don't trigger a CEL. If it does, a tune will get rid of it.

Why exactly are they a waste of money? And okay cause I was going to get it tuned anyway

They don't make power. If you're going to spend a fortune in labor to install headers (which are very good from the factory) you want long tube headers which preclude you running any cats. Long tubes are the only ones that make power. To make it easy, buy HFCs, Stillen Gen III intakes, your choice of cat back and a tune. That's pretty much the standard setup.

I already have injen SP series dual cold air intakes, and a borla CBE , but I don't want to get long tube headers which is illegal in the state of Missouri. And I don't doubt you, but how do you KNOW exactly that they don't produce any power? ( I also really like noise which is another reason I wanted them :P)

Because members have installed them and made very little power. Headers are not cheap to install. If you want headers that make power, buy long tubes. The VQ37 comes with very good headers from the factory.

Okay thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it, are there really anymore mods to do though? Not anything major such as turbos ect?

You're pretty close to having all the bolt ons. You could always take the plunge into forced induction, but that cost snowballs in a hurry. Either be happy with ~325 whp or so, or spend $10-15k+ for 500whp. There's not really a middle ground.

There is still the Z1 shorty header ( Momentum copy)
which proved some great gain....

If not then I would go for the PPE LTH , you can still get the xyz Y-pipe from Motrdyne if you want a cats.

but seriously I wouldn't go with a stillen header at all since its not much better than OEM... I bought a pair of these in the very beginning when there wasn't much option and I did regret them !

Truer words never spoken. I'm at that maxed whp with intake, HFCs, exhaust and a tune. Starting in the next week or so I'll be dropping the first of that $10-15k Chuck speaks of.

If it's noise you want the car will have plenty of exhaust note once you go to HFC. Let me recommend the Berks.

Hmm, why the berks? I've heard plenty of good things about the stillen HFC's?

Xyz pipes, are they similar to long tube headers, but you can fit stillen/berk HFC's?

To me they sound the best and I was pleased with the hp gains.
