Default Walker O2 Sensor Problem

Okay so my "service engine soon" light came on and I had my mechanic pull the code. He said I needed the front sensors replaced. He reset the code and said to call him if the light comes back in in 3 days. Sure enough it came back on in 3 days and I ordered some new Walker sensors from oxygensensors.com.

Well, after a week, the "SES" light turned off, but I received the new sensors via mail. So, I still decided to install the new sensors a week later.

So, as they were removing the previous sensors, one was all seized up in the threading and they had to just pretty much torque it out and the bunge snapped off. They had to re-weld a new bunge on it and then install the sensors. This happened on only the right side. I had to pay an extra $300 for the new bunge and the weld job.

So, all was fine and now just at 2am, started my car and the "SES" light came back on. I'm gonna call my mechanic and pay him a visit in the morning to see what this new code is. Maybe it's the same code, but we shall see.

Wish me luck, guys.

Get an OBD scanner, read any DTCs that are present, Google the DTC(s). If you don't want to buy a scanner, most auto parts store will loan/rent you one.

Okay, so I reset the SES code last Friday and just now it came back on after a week.

Before I cleared the SES, it said something about bank 1 operating out of range or something like that.

I'm just going to take it back to my mechanic again and see what he says.

I'm wondering if it's cause the welding job wasn't very good for the new bunge.
