**UPDATE, due to incessant shipping delays and the run around from R2C I have canceled the order. It was initially delayed due to corrections made from nogood's install. But then the shipping was to be Tues/Weds/Thurs and then today, but it has not shipped today and my appointment is for next Weds. I am tired of dealing with this situation so I canceled the order. Sorry for any of you waiting for dyno results.



Okay for those interested I just talked to R2C and my intake is supposed to ship out tomorrow or Wednesday the 26th. I have scheduled my dyno runs for the following week on my day off, Weds September 2nd. The first run will be at 10am when they open, then I will have the intakes installed and another run in the afternoon. Unfortunately the temperature will be substantially higher in the afternoon, probably 20+ degrees.

When I called R2C I asked about running with the hood open or closed and I was told that some cars make more with it open and others closed, so I need feedback, should I do one of each, or should I just do both with the hood closed? The tech also told me that you can adjust something with the MAF if the gains aren't substantial to improve performance.

Any other questions ask, nogoood already has these installed in his G37 so he is very good source as well.

Hood closed, engine at normal operating temp, ecu reset prior to oem & r2c dyno pull would be my guess. Hopefully at least three pulls each.

This way the only variable would be the ambient temp?

since hood is closed, does it replicate actually driving?? because of standing air

I think they usually stick a big fan in front to approximate normal driving conditions.

Yeah, shops have fans to simulate air flow over the radiator. Dynoing without it is stupid.

It'd be cool if the fan speed was variable depending on vehicle speed while on the dyno.

Can't wait for results! Even if there is a marginal gain, I will get them just for looks!

Just get the Injens and I will install them for you. You can drive to VA every couple months for me to clean your filters. :icon18:

Well I would be very disappointed if there isn't at least a 10hp gain. They look cool, but I'm not paying for looks, this isn't a show car.

If m4a1mustang got 6.9HP with the Injens, than I highly doubt we see more that that out of the R2Cs. Maybe 5HP...

Well it really depends on the dyno. My 6.9 whp gain is a very low number because it was run on a Dyno Dynamics.

Tin is going to run on a DynoJet, so if his intake is good for any gains he could very well make 6.9whp, but when you consider the difference in the machines, that 6.9whp wouldn't be equal.

Agree, but we are not talking G37 here. I like the black Injens as well... maybe i should buy a second Z and buy both intakes...:drool:

On a DynoJet, which is in line with the manufacturer's 15whp claim, again, on a DynoJet.

Buy both and put one on the left side and the other on the right. :icon18:

Trust me, if I buy anything else besides an intake for my car I would be a single man again. And I don't want that now, do I...... I already had to sleep on the couch for buying one....

I like the Injens and willing to deal with the bumper removal if it turns out the be the dry filter intake system to beat for the 370z. But waiting for the R2C results first.

I was just told that my unit "should" be shipping out today.

I would like to see a dyno with the hood close, but maybe use 2 shop fans to simulate the car moving at speed. That way, we can see if this intake really avoids heat soak or not.

I plan to buy most of the mods that can be seen (wheels, aero,etc) first, before I even bring the car home. I can do the rest (intake, exhaust) w/o her even knowing!!!!!

Life goes on, I am mainly disappointed for those waiting for my dyno numbers, and I didn't want to screw over the shops that had me scheduled next week.

It was weird, they never ignored me, they just kept telling me it's shipping today or tomorrow, but then I'd never get a tracking number. If they had simply told me it would be delayed a week to 10 days to begin with that would have been fine, but to keep stringing me along was not good.

I can dig it. Glad to know which vendors to use and which not to.

Well they have taken very good care of nogood IMO, so I am not willing to say that they should be avoided, maybe I just have bad luck.

As far as I'm concerned, a good business doesn't take care of some of the customers some of the time.

wow..... feels like it's my fault....but then again a company should be able to handle customers and customer relations.

That's kind of what I was trying to get at.

2 times they let me down, but each time when you think they ignored you...they reply with an excellent response and customer service !!!!

It's pretty easy to give pillow talk. But that doesn't put parts on your car.

I orderded from one of our sponsors here JBMS in Florida, and they told me earlier this week they would ship in 2-3 weeks. I will wait a few weeks but if they do not ship by them I will cancel as well.

in my group buy, they shipped right away.

They didnt want to piss of a whole group of you, lol
