anyhow i like the top speed test pipe because its cheap and is a quality piece, megan racing also makes a nice test pipe for around the same price($200)
they will add some rasp though unless you get resonated test pipes

i have them and i love the sound, it really opened up my nismo exhaust's sound

ill make a video when it warms up a bit so you can hear what it sounds like

To piggyback to that, I would highly recommend Fast Intentions Resonated TPs, as well as Resonated HFCs. Both will give you the quality and gains you're looking for. They come with an 8" resonator build right into the downpipe, whether in the TP, or immediately following the 300cell cat of the HFC.

After doing a lot of research of dyno charts and comparisons of HFCs vs TPs, the #'s are right around 1-2 hp higher at the peak for the TPs, but slightly higher in the midrange of the TQ levels of the HFCs, so basically nothing unless you're looking for "bragging rights" on a dyno chart.

IF you're planning to remain NA, I'd recommend HFCs>TPs. Keeps your exhaust sexy sounding with no rasp, and will give you the gains you're looking for.

Couldn't agree more. A quality HFC(F.I.) will provide a cleaner note, if you like loud and ballsy, RTPs are for you. Power wise is pretty moot. I will say, whole cruising or digging into it, the RTPs do have a bit more of a fun factor with that nasty note coming through.

Or **** it, go TT and get the best of everything, :driving:

Just a note, some exhausts turn to complete *** on test pipes. MY old HKS and ARK GRiPs responded like hell to berk TPs(maybe the Helmholtz dont like TPs|?). MEanwhile my F.I. CF CBE was just amazing with my RTPs.

I will say, nothing about the stillens disappointed me at all. They were top notch. I just felt I got a lot more out of my R2Cs since I was able to maintain a very routine cleaning schedule on them where the gen3s after 5 months looked like poop(it did have to endure 2 trips to vegas and back which is about 400 miles of dusty cal-nevada desert.

Or in a nutshell, I am not in love with CAIs on a NA build on this car!

Gen3's are definitely a higher HP as well as TQ gainer over the R2C's. You might not find many reviews here on the370, but coming from the G market, the R2C's were very big about 2 years ago.

There are multiple review threads over on myg37, and in the end, the Gen3's came out on top over and over again over the RC2's. The R2C's are more of a sound maker then anything. They do open up more air to the engine, but without a tune you will actually lose power. My buddy ran a before and after dyno with his RC2's and he lost about 7 peak HP and 4 lbs/tq.

The Gen3's on the other hand gain in every aspect of the map. Midrange, and especially at peak. This isn't necessarily a result of "cold air" as so many people get hyped up on, but its a direct result of how the Gen3's are engineered. They lean out the motor, "tricking" the ECU. Is this safe? Some beg to differ, but no one has ever had any issues with their engines from it, only great gains which get even better with a proper tune.

lol can you explain what happened?

i love the sound of the HKS with non resonated test pipes, i also really like agency power as well with non resonated test pipes

ON-TOPIC
OP, get a mod that you like and dont worry about what others think, SRI vs CAI will always be debated on and on until the end of the world
i think its people arguing for the sake of arguing :P

What a coincidence. I literally just sold my R2C Black Nickel intake like ten minutes ago on here… Loved the intake, better than the G3's in my opinion.
