Least rasp, deepest CBE paired with PPE LTH?

Mine doesn't rasp with with a HFC at the Y pipe. (It does with cold exhaust pipes). Some guys don't want to cut into their exhaust. I advised another guy

Mine doesn't rasp with with a HFC at the Y pipe. (It does with cold exhaust pipes). Some guys don't want to cut into their exhaust. I advised another guy to add a resonated Y pipe and that worked well for him. The E370 has a resonated X chamber and doesn't rasp, which makes sense. Glad the combo works cor the OP and I want to hear a vid

ok i didnt know that, thank you for the info

i dont really look into killing rasp on this car too much since i love the way rasp sounds, and the only other car i did modify is my eclipse, which doesnt rasp since its turbo(or if it does, i dont hear it over turbo spool sounds)

I'm finally having my PPE headers installed next week. Rest of the exhaust will be take off Nismo, with factory H pipe.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether I should expect hissing at decel or the farting sounds common to unresonated TP's around 2.5 - 3K?

I'm hoping not...

The vids of Firehawk's set up sounded great, but I'm not sure whether that was before or after the HFC was included.

I had this exact setup for over a year.

You will be able to detect the decel hiss.

There won't be any rasp or any other unpleasant sounds. It sounds almost factory.

Hope this helps.

Hmm. Interesting. So a bit of hiss but no real rasp. This was with OEM H-pipe?

On my previous Z, I tried a bigger diameter Y pipe and the hiss drove me crazy. Got rid of it in under a week.

Hopefully, it won't be quite as bad

Thanks for the info

Yes, factory H pipe.

The hiss will be there, I did not find it to be bothersome, even when the car was still being street driven regularly. It isn't super loud like with an aftermarket exhaust + LTH.

But that hiss will be basically the only hint to bystanders that there's anything non-stock about the exhaust. That Nismo system is pretty damned quiet while still making very respectable power.

Sounds like I should be happy with it then -- thanks!
