Active exhaust?

Is there an exhaust out there that has butterfly valves like the one in the TT V6, where it opens up at higher revs to give a better vocal range,

Default Active exhaust?

Is there an exhaust out there that has butterfly valves like the one in the TT V6, where it opens up at higher revs to give a better vocal range, and stays decent at normal revs?

There is but it's outrageously expensive $4275. Link: http://370ztune.com/370z/z34/power_c..._valve/pid/685

just install some cutoffs for a couple hundred bucks and be done with it. Honestly though these type of systems are really only beneficial on cars with Forced Induction...

You're right. The new electric cut-outs are pretty reasonable and there's a natural place to mount them on the Z.

Actually these Valved exhaust systems work very well on NA cars. I had the "NPP" factory valved exhaust on my Vette and it was pretty awesome and made more horsepower. It actually routed the exhaust straight through the muffler when open. The one mentioned on the 3.2 Audi is not quite as refined and used primarily for meeting noise restrictions..

I'd recommend contacting Apex'i USA for the request for this type of exhaust. They already have the mufflers & technology to do it.

Apex'i PS Revolution mufflers, Active Tail silencer, and Exhaust Control Valve (ECV). They used to have the electric version but due to limited demand in the USA they stopped selling as many.

Other technological options: AeroTurbine mufflers, Hooker AeroChamber mufflers, or electric cut-out valves from QuickTime Performance, Summit, Pypes, and Ready Race Performance.

Or.. just research the internal designs of the C6 corvette mufflers, Nissan variable flow mufflers, etc... and pickup one of those used.
