The exhaust is amazing, great sound and really improves on the sound of the stock exhaust. Never mind the quality of the welds and the metal, the pieces are gorgeous.

The exhaust is amazing, great sound and really improves on the sound of the stock exhaust. Never mind the quality of the welds and the metal, the pieces are gorgeous. Its really shame that they need to be hidden underneath the car, I work in a car dealership as a technician and had it laid out in my spare bay all day waiting to be put on the car and all day people were stopping by commenting on how nice the parts looked.
My service manager even came out after the install was done with the car idling and said how "Thats how the car should sound stock." I do have one very minor issue though, the flange where my right pipe and muffler piece meet doesn't meet up correctly and there is a very MINOR exhaust leak from around the gasket. Its enough to notice when checking for leaks but I couldn't hear any leak from it so I wasn't even concerned enough to pull it apart and see which piece has the warp in it. Another question is does it open up a bit at high RPM once it breaks in? I'd love for it to have just a little more roar to it at higher RPMs. Of course I purposely bought the quietest exhaust so I could go CBE without being to loud so this really isn't at all a concern, just a question. |

The exhaust tone will be smoother as you break it in. We have checked for leaks and such before we shipped out the production units. Please make sure the right gaskets were used on the right flanges.

Since you told me the issue was an incorrect install I took the time to take the exhaust back apart and lo and behold the midpipe where it connects to the X pipe is indeed warped, I'm trying to get pictures of it that will show up on my phone camera though it is proving quite difficult.

email me those pictures directly to alex@arkperformanceusa.com so I can guide you with the install.
I don't know how the Xpipe can be warped. Alex |

The install went flawlessly other than this, took a whole of 35 minutes from start to finish. I really don't mean to make this a larger issue than it is, sorry I got my feathers ruffled a bit with your response.
I misspoke, its the pipe that connects to the x pipe between the muffler and the x pipe, the flange where it meets the X pipe WAS warped. I took a large grinder to it and took off maybe half a mm of material off mostly the ears and it seals perfectly now. Like I said before, the leak was very small and didn't even cause any noise just some minor flow was felt from it while leak checking the system over. But the small leak has now been corrected without spending any money or really any hassle at all, I just wanted to note it as it really was my only concern with the exhaust system as a whole. Please don't get me wrong, I am a VERY satisfied customer, anyone that has heard the exhaust has said thats how it should sound from the factory. Edit: I will send the pictures out once I get home and able to upload them. |
