Any chance of hearing Prototype II?

Also, what was the baseline Dyno? 300whp doesn't sound right for just an exhaust upgrade (sorry)...

ARK...Could you please describe the principles behind the dead leg muffler.

Cheers

dlmartin81 09-29-2009 09:51 AM

I believe that "dead leg muffler" is to help muffle the sound more. If you notice, the main canister type mufflers are smaller than some of the other exhausts out there. I believe they designed this with clearance in mind.

If you look at the FI mufflers, they're much bigger and therefore, you have more of a clearance problem. Now, I can't say how severe the clearance is with the FI....whether or not it effects you as a daily driver but it's substantially lower than stock....and ARK's, I assume. Of course, one's ride height plays a factor in this as well.

But.....I could be wrong. So hopefully someone from ARK can better answer your question.

Was thinking it was either to help eliminate the low frquency that causes boom and drone or to help quieten the system. Wonder if this introduces turbulence and reduces the efficiency of the exhaust???

We are getting that baseline for everyone shortly. I had to G37 with the exhaust on and was able to get a quick dyno in at MD automotive. We have some videos to prove that this dyno is based off the stock engine with nothing but the exhaust.

bullitt5897 10-01-2009 09:50 PM

ARK if you need someone to rep you here in the south east give me a shout :D in for pricing

TeamARK 10-06-2009 02:13 AM

Pricing will be up and given out to exclusive 370z vendors. The Type 1 Exhaust will land within 5 days. Once the fitting stage is complete, we will do some dyno testing. Videos, baseline and gains will be provided asap.

This process will be the same once our type 2 exhaust comes in.

jpit 10-06-2009 10:23 AM

Can you tell us the differences between the three exhausts you are producing?

TeamARK 10-06-2009 12:52 PM

You can take a look at Page 1 and take a look at the designs between the two systems.

1. Design of the exhaust
2. Exhaust tone.
3. type 2 incorporates our signature x-pipe
4. Type 1 is a True Dual Header Back system.

It seems like some other companies are jumping onto our design as well. I dont think their quality can match with ours.

Alex

jpit 10-06-2009 02:33 PM

Can you tell me which of the three designs will be the quietest?

dlmartin81 10-06-2009 02:41 PM

ARK, which if the first 2 prototypes is the quietest?
