I believe there are a few who have or provide some box that goes on the inside of the engine bay to help separate the engine/radiator from the intake filter which could help.

I had a feeling short rams would do that when they are sucking in hot air, I am most likely going to fabricate heat shields or purchase some clip on ones off eBay since those are really cheap and they just clip on to the filter itself.

results were all on par with one another, 10 above ambient while moving speeds 55mph or higher(tested to 80mph) it might have gotten better IATs if i tested past 80mph but unfortunately i havent

Another thing to look up to help possibly, is search on the forum for modshack intake DIY. He took some hoses and routed them towards the OEM boxes to pump cold air into the system, would work for your setup also.

ya sitting in traffic im seeing tons of heat soak(160F IATs) and low speeds im seeing 30-40 degree air over ambient, im thinking of modifying the stock box to fit over the cone filter or fabricate/purchase a heat shield

I was also thinking about relocating filters in this location here
i think that might help out a bit with heat soak since the filters are right next to the engine

I don't see that making more than a negligible difference. You've still got the intakes pulling under hood air. Some ducting and heat shields are your only option to cut down on the hot air you're pulling in, but there's only so much that can be done with the filters in the engine bay.

A heat shield will keep the fans from blowing directly onto the filters, which will help some. Modshack's DIY for running ducts to the airboxes will help as well. That's about all you can do with a SRI.

last night though it didnt hit that high even driving through town to leave the meet, my IATs were about 20 above ambient when moving through town and it kind of sat there when i hopped on the highway and drove 65 on my way home at this point im probably gonna relocate filters somewhere in the bumper like the stillen G3s or in the wheel wells like the injen intakes

I have never in my life seen people gasp so much for one or two horsepower. BTW a short ram intake will net more throttle response and torque. A long tube intake sucks at throttle response but nets more top end horsepower. What are you looking for? What are you using your car for?
