Granted, this is the first import I have owned since my first car which was a GSLSE Rx7. I have been racing Mustangs (now a vette) for more than 20 years and not once have I heard anything about separating exhaust pipes using washers to make the exhaust louder. Especially in the Mustang/Camaro/Vette crowds. Doing so in one of these cars would sound like an embarrassing exhaust leak. Either buy an exhaust system or get a cutout. Damn, I feel old now. The fact of the matter is it’s your car. Do as you wish; what I think means absolutely nothing.

Many people have experienced it on the street.

i dont think the vette crowd would do that kind of stuff since they just have to pull a fuse to stop the butterfly valve from closing on their extra exhaust tips for more sound and i know for a fact that the viper crowd dont do that since their exhaust sounds beefy as hell stock i know i only did the washer mod because my moms stock maxima has a better exhaust note than my Nismo 370z does stock(and that imo is really sad) |

apparently taking long right turns will cause it
i have no idea it would cause it because i have taken long right turns to get on the highway at 40mph before and never once have i experienced fuel starvation, even with low fuel(1/4 tank) |

I've fuel starved on the street. Clover-leaf off-ramp @ ~60-70. Was a little more aggressive than I'd normally drive on the street, but not ridiculous, no tire distress or anything. Starved sure as ****.

3 whp is well within the range of dyno variance between runs. The OP of that thread did two runs with the muffler, and one without. That's not enough to determine any gain or loss. It's impossible to tell whether a 3 whp gain is from a mod or just the natural variance of the dyno. He would have needed to do several runs with the muffler and average the numbers, then do several runs without the muffler and average the numbers. As it stands, you can't determine a gain from his post.
