exhaust mod drives range indicator crazy
I have been running with the washers mod for the last 4 months and love the sound however, i have noticed that the mile range indicator under the led lights got allot less accurate. Before the washer mod it was somewhat accurate now it's way off. Sometimes goes down then up i can't rely on it anymore. My question is why does the exhaust leak cause this?

It doesn't. You're putting your foot in it more to hear your exhaust leak and that's why your range display is going nuts. If you drive the way you used to, it will behave like it used to. Coorelation does not equal causation.

To be honest i feel like I'm driving the same and not faster to hear the exhaust. Can it be that since i lost bottom end power I'm giving more gas to compensate for the loss in torque?

No, there's no way the exhaust leak has any measurable effect on mpg.

When has that indicator ever been accurate? I recall jumping from 60ish down to 30 within 10 minutes.

Scratch? I don't know what you're talking about!
Really? When I turn off my car, it will say about 124 miles. A few hours later, turn it back on and its down to maybe 90. It just doesn't seem that accurate to me. I don't rely on it because gaugology-101 tells me not to trust it. I just fill up when I have about 3 dots left. Hasn't failed me yet!

I don't rely on mine since it's way off with larger than stock injectors. I just use the trip meter every time I fill up. When I was stock, though, the range indicator was fairly accurate.
