That is urban myth. If you ever have a problem call K&N & they will fight the dealers claims 100% K&N Response to Mass Air Flow Sensor Concerns Drop them in & go. By the way dry filters don't filter as well. You might get a little better airflow, but at loss of filtration.
NickTurnon and tektuuu like this.

Dry filters offer the same filtrations as a stock filter, the issue with K&N filters is that people do not know how to properly clean and oil them. I can't tell you how many cars I've had to remove the MAF and clean due to a heavy oil coating which leads to a heavy dust coating that cause the sensor to cause a higher than expected resistance, dumping extra fuel, ect ect. However, you're entitled to your own opinions.

Having faith in a company to be honest about it's products is like saying our government has our best interest at heart.

not it is nothing like that at all, you can sue a company for falsely advertising their product, or if their product broke your property, ect.

you can not do that with the government however so companies unlike the government do not want someone to sue them and spread bad things about them because not only will they lose money, they will lose business and losing business means losing money on top of the money they already lost

that is user error then and not the company's problem, if you stuck them in and out of the box they killed your MAF sensors, thats a different story

Looking at their website I do like that they really stand behind their product. I'm not really looking to install a full CAI. I have an FI exhaust and I wasn't planning on doing anything more as far as performance goes..but these filters just look like they are a nice simple minor performance mod. I have an extended warranty also so a simple mod like these filters is appealing. If I tracked the car or just used it on weekends hell I'd probably have a twin turbo in it, but I dd my Z so I'm not going too crazy. I think I'll take a trip to auto zone tomorrow and at least take a look at them. Which means I will probably buy them
