air intake

just baught a nismo 370z want air intake system what shoul i go with

spearfish25 07-30-2009 07:55 PM

This isn't the best place to post this question...look under the engine section with the subheading of intake/exhaust. Also, people will be more likely to respond if you tell a bit about yourself, car, etc and what your goals are. If your post took 3 seconds to put together, don't expect people to put more effort in replying (I just did, doh!). Try the search function which will find you many posts on this topic.

stillen gen 3
:google:

and welcome

NewlyIMPORTed 07-30-2009 09:30 PM

i have the stillen g3 intake and i am very impressed. a stock 370 with the g3 intake will stomp a stock nismo : )

nizz23sd 07-30-2009 09:57 PM

yep stillen gen 3 is the way to go but im waiting on arc for a short intake. dont really like the idea of having white intake filter's like nismo has and they dont come with a heat shield.

frost 07-30-2009 10:00 PM

Why buy a nismo if you're just going to buy aftermarket bolt-ons anyway?

Chrono_30 07-30-2009 10:27 PM

nice! I really like the way the nismo looks! I went with the G3 from stillen. It seems to be the best so far. There have been some complaints with "cold" air intakes that are still in the engine bay. I believe the stillen is the only one with the filters out of the actual engine bay.

juan05 08-05-2009 01:49 PM

i have a nismo too and if you are going to mod it its because first. i like the package bang for the buck. i got mine at 37.000 not 40 k.
it comes with body kit exhaust everything i need. oh and the rims...now all you have to work with is your engine like intakes. coolers etc. and maybe a better sounds system GPS.

rreign 08-05-2009 01:52 PM

stillen g3... best bang for the buck

kdo2milger 08-05-2009 02:08 PM

doesnt the nismo 370z come with the nismo cais?

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:09 PM

this intake is cheaper than the Stillen G's

http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/p.../r2cvsgen3.jpg

it's another intake (R2D2..i mean R2C) versus the G3's

but consider it was 10% more humid on the G3 run and 4 degree F less also

thoughts??

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:13 PM

R2C Performance intakes

it's being tested for fitment this week apparently

kdo2milger 08-05-2009 02:14 PM

got any pics?

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:17 PM

compare (R2C and G3)

http://content.glidesociety.com/imag...1-bc194554c16ahttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...s/IMG_1338.jpg
both on a G37

Shunya 08-05-2009 02:19 PM

i still dun get it, R2D2 is good at the filters only right so let's say i get a G3. when the filter gets old then can i use a R2D2 filter to replace it then become uber fast?

haha i love asking stoopid questions

kdo2milger 08-05-2009 02:20 PM

nice...those heat shields look interesting...so they use dry filters from the looks of it and the dyno overlay is very simular to the gen 3s...i shall keep an eye on the developement of these...

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:23 PM

forgot to mention, that was an independent dyno

the filters on the r2c's are dry, no need to oil
that is a good

the Stillen use K&N oiled filters
and you got remove the bumper to re oil them
also, have to cut holes to install

theDreamer 08-05-2009 02:35 PM

R2C look good, I like those heat sheilds, wonder if I can grab some for the Takedas and see if they make a difference. Depending on how mine play out, the R2C look very good.

i was thinking the same :icon18:

theDreamer 08-05-2009 02:38 PM

It looks like a rubber material lining it, but not clue what is the actual walls made out of. If I find that out I might be able to make some of my own.

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:40 PM

why not just save the headache of trying to modify a takeda intake/r2c intake,
just get the R2C.

the best is that it seals to the hood

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:47 PM

kdo2milger 08-05-2009 02:51 PM

chewing gum, come on macgyver :icon18:

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:53 PM

but the r2d2's will be tested this week as par my sources tell me

theDreamer 08-05-2009 02:54 PM

Sounds good, and I will have real results of the Takedas, will be interesting all around with more options opening up for everyone.

nogoodname 08-05-2009 02:56 PM
