Yeah, IF and a big one at that, this intake can even produce 75% of the hp that the G3 does, i will be all over it. It takes away

Yeah, IF and a big one at that, this intake can even produce 75% of the hp that the G3 does, i will be all over it. It takes away all the drawbacks of the g3 while yielding good enough gains. Tin, please keep us posted. Thanks.

I don't care about the dyno sheet of a G37 with I dont know what mods (says stillen, but I dont know which stillen) on a dynojet which reads very very high. I dont know what the baseline run was, for all I know it might have been 279hp baseline, those dyno's read very high.
TheDreamer just posted up his dyno with these intakes and it made 0 power on a 370Z on the same dyno as his previous run. I understand if you feel insulted and all and your problem is you are taking this personally when this clearly does not reflect on you personally. This is about intakes that either make or don't make power. I bought a set of JWT's first and they made no power which is why I sold them to try something different. Turned out the Stillen made a ton of power. Since then I have seen several different designs pass through here and it seems that only the longtube versions are producing worthwhile gains. I'm not going to get into a personal issue here, you can keep that for yourself. And no, writing your comments in caps aren't going to trigger some sort of emotional backlash from me. And yes I am a fan, I am a fan of products that work. |

Ummm I was talking about the R2C, which was posted, not the Takedas that Dreamer has on his car. They are in fact different.....I have no dog in the fight here. I am not a Stillen fan boy, my car is bone stock. I just know that some times people pay a very large premium for a name or marketing. I am not saying that is the case here. I just find the unfounded, petty criticism a tad juvenille. If, if I get the intake from this company I will be happy to post up a dyno run. A dose of humble pie never hurts....anyone. |

Oiled filters are a no go for me. Unlike the Z where the filters are tucked in for the Gen3, they are right up to the front grille, who in the right mind would want filters right there for daily driving. Dust, pollen and shit will make the filters annoying to clean and re oil too. Not worth having to remove the bumper all the time and/or the rad cover.

I am going to agree RCZ, I feel any short style intake on the Z will just produce no gains. The stock intakes are very well built from factory, not very "stylish" but do a damn good job.

Although I tend to agree with this statement, I'm not ruling out the possibility that the R2C with their heat shield will yield comparable gains to the true CAI's.

I just do not see it, hoping for the best, but even with heat shield I think you need some air from the front of the engine to get the Stillen gains.

Yeah, All I said is the longtubes like the Stillen are making the most power. So far this has been the case over and over so the criticism, as you call it, isnt unfounded. Just remember its not personal. I have nothing against being proven wrong in fact I welcome it.
I don't see what I said that may have made me seem arrogant here, I just wrote my opinion about non-CAI intakes on this car. I think power on this car is HUGELY affected by temperatures, intake temps included. Not because the car is unsafe with hotter air, but because the ECU has been programed to keep a wide margin of safety when higher temps are detected. If the R2C produces good results, then awesome, add it to the list of good intakes for the car, I dont see why we have to do this on every damn thread..can't say anything anymore without someone getting offended. |

My apologies if I sound arrogant/disrespectful at times, I just don't care to tip toe around a possible argument these days, I don't have the energy to be coy, nor do I care about what random people who have been on the forums for a week and don't contribute anything of value think about me. (not speaking of anyone in specific). When people do know what they are talking about and contribute, then I sit and listen to see if I can learn something new. So now you know my opinion. Now I keep an eye on this and see how it turns out. Good luck, post graphs whoever gets it. Remember to drive the car at least 5 miles or 15 minutes or do like 6-8 dyno runs before you test out the new intake. Otherwise you are NOT going to get accurate results. |
