Help removing muffler bolts

1/2" breaker bar and a piece of pipe to slide over it if u need extra leverage. Worked like a champ. Also. If your not bleeding. Your not doing it

I used a grinder and cut a couple of mine off. They were on so tight that the 2 of the bolt heads rounded and 2 of them just snapped off.

Use pb blaster! Say bye bye to the struggle and even the demon bolts on the cats came off with ease!

Don't do this. Using air tools on the exhaust is a good way to damage the O2 sensors due to the vibrations. While the vibrations may not make it all the way from the muffler up to the front, with our expensive O2 sensors is it really worth the risk?!

I had less than 22 thousand miles and have never driven in the rain on my car. I sprayed the bolts with a penetrating oil and let it sit over night and my bolt heads still stripped.

I guess some are just super tight. But changing out the exhaust with a cat back system sure does make the car more fun.

Good luck!
