No...

Necking down to a single via a Y pipe is not the same as an H pipe (two pipes with a cross-flow pipe for equalization) or a conservative X pipe design like Fast Intentions or Berk/Invidia.

That said, the Magnaflow solution does reduce total system flow to basically one pipe diameter since the paths actually cross, but even then I don't believe the flow would be as restricted as being reduced to a single cohesive stream. I still wouldn't pick this design for those reasons though.

At any rate, go with what you like, most people don't really dyno test parts or care if they're a few WHP one way or the other, and why should they? Go with what looks or sounds better to you, that's what really matters.

I just like to talk tech, about pretty much everything.

Hey guys,

I finally got a chance to install the exhaust. It's a really nice piece. Stock exhaust took a little bit of trickery to remove (had to unbolt rear hangars to get the muffler to drop) and some of the bolts were pretty tough. But the ARK Design exhaust comes with new zinc coated hardware and all new gaskets, so I didn't run into any issues.

The welds are extremely nice and each section bolted up very tight. No clearance issues on the cross-beam like some exhausts have. I will get some some sound clips next week if I get a chance. The exhaust adds a pretty deep sound, not sure how to describe it as I only had stock to compare it to before. But compared to my buddies Stillen exhaust it's much throatier and has as nicer note (at least IMO). But here are some pictures for the time being.

I just bought the ark design cat back exhaust. Should be arriving in the next few days.

I think i might make a proper review on this exhaust since not many people have it.
Also some proper sound clips such as revving, launching, rolling shot etc.

Might get more people interested in this exhaust system after i make the review :)

I have one set on my 370Z 6MT. Bought it for $760 shipped from Anaheim a year ago.

Make the long story short. Very incredibly nice quality and excellent almost flawless welding spots for the price that I paid. Exhaust system fits almost perfectly . All exhaust flanges are nice and thick, therefore the sealing is perfect with no exhaust leakage at all. I am able to utilize the OEM Nissan 2.5" MLS gaskets for all of the connection flanges. The OEM MLS gaskets are superior to the asbestos gaskets that they provided.

Well, performance is noticeable from about 4800 pm up to 7700 rpm. Below that, you don't really notice that much change. I am still running full factory cats and the ECU is 100% factory except redline is raised to 7700 rpm. To my best estimate maybe 7-10 whp and some rwt increase.

Noise : No droning. But it is kind of medium loud especially above 5000rpm ( No louder than my 2014 stock Maserati Gran Tourismo V8 ). Cruising is not so bad.

Overall: Excellent. I have them exhaust all apart again because I am in the process of installing Fast intention TT system in the next few months. My goal is 500 whp. That's the reason I bought this exhaust for. It is more appropriate for forced induction more than NA.
