550WHP from a Y pipe, Just sayin. Y pipes are plenty for a NA and benificial for supercharged Z's. True dual won't matter much unless you are turbo. The only reason to choose true dual/ H pipe/ X pipe is sound differences. Z1 mentioned pushing 348 whp (NA) with E85 on a Y pipe based 3" Tomei exhaust. Y pipes are convenient because they are a direct bolt on with no other mod to the exhaust. The AAM is nice for Nismo direct replacements of exhaust components.

Sound wise it is pretty different. There is no hissing what so ever probably because all the gasses are being expelled evenly and are synchronized by the H part of the exhaust. When I was building my setup, I wanted no drone so my focus was to eliminate any resonance that could occur throughout the system. All in all it worked out great for me. Everything I was looking for in a system was there with this setup. I still have yet to put on my HFC. It might be too loud though so I might put my resonators from AAM back on. It should sound like sex. We'll see! ^_^

I absolutely loved the stock exhaust note of my '04 350Z, I have the Beluga axlebacks/short tails on my '10 Nismo and it sounds great, IMO, but just not quite the same VQ35DE "wookie growl" that I was so fond of before... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

Higher pitch, less flow, less power. That sound was very unique to the DE's.
