Loudness help: ART Pipes vs Resonated HFC
 

I'm trying to decide between ART pipes and Fast Intentions resonated HFC. Already searched on google and the forums search for direct comparisons but couldn't find any. Does anyone have any insight on which would be quieter or have less drone or rasp?

I've heard that ART pipes are quieter than unresonated HFC and of course, that RHFC are also quieter than regular HFCs, but there haven't been any comparison between the two. Since I don't do much stop and go driving, the smell isn't a big deal, just sound.

You're comparing 2 entirely different products types. You're comparing a Resonated Test Pipe (MD ART), and a Resonated HFC(Fast Intentions). To compare products, you would need to compare the ART pipes to RTP's.

To answer the question though, the ART pipe will be louder because you're not running any exhaust flow through a cat to dampen the exhaust.

RHFCs are great for both highway driving, as well as stop go driving. They prevent rasp and in cabin drone.

ART pipes were considerably quieter then ERZ HFCs on my car but sounded less exotic

My art pipes are fairly quiet, they open up of course depending on the amount of throttle. They do produce a noticeable hiss on deceleration, but some people enjoy that I suppose. To me the car sounds very exotic, not raspy, but throaty.

just wait till you install long tube cold air intakes to go with the shockwave exhaust and art pipes, even louder(deeper sound). my mechanic says it sounds like a GT-R. Did not expect that.

I enjoy my ART pipes on my with my FI exhuast. The sound is deep on idle and the low end. It'll scream down the road at higher speeds/rpm's. The hiss on decel is there but its barely noticeable to me. There's some rasp in there too but its under the exhaust note itself so its hardly noticeable also. At least to me it is.

This prob doesn't help much but this is FI Carbon Fiber exhaust 12" resonators and the Motordyne ART pipes.

I agree with this. HFCs made my exhaust sound more exotic and meaner. The ART pipes I have now sound quieter, more refined.

I posted a week or so ago about my exhaust being too loud with my Berk HFC's. Don't get me wrong I do love the sound when just cruising but at WOT it is not my favorite.

I took some nice videos of my exhast set up now: HKS Hi-power with Berk HFC's, and I just ordered some FI RHFC that I will be installing this Saturday. I plan to make some more vids and I will post them here so everyone can hear the sound difference.

Repped! This is what I've been looking for. Any chance you have a bit more, perhaps just some throttle hits standing still. I've been on the fence for a while with this one. I have the same setup and I'm afraid how much it will change the sound, everyone including myself, love the sound of the FI exhaust.

Ill take a look and see if I have anything!! The cars in NY at my parents house but I live in Maine so its tough to get fresh but I may have some thing

Will you be selling your Berk HFC's ones you install the new FI RHFC. I'd be interested in buying your Berk HFC's.
