Cheap intake.

What would be a good way to go about installing an intake without spending more than like 190$? I'm in the process of closing on my house so I can't

Default Cheap intake.

What would be a good way to go about installing an intake without spending more than like 190$? I'm in the process of closing on my house so I can't spend too much, but I would like to put a little bit into my car too. Any ideas?

it comes with everything you need. Just google post maf tubes for our cars and you should see a few manufacturers. Z1 seems to be a favorite.

Or you can just get the K&N drop-ins to save more money and the truble to install the tubes. Even with the K&N drop-ins alone will give you some gains and you will feel it.

Ya... don't! Save that money to get a real intake.

True, it's not worth it to cut corners. Just wait till the time is right to purchase the proper intake, check the classifieds as well.

Yes best to save for a real intake, i'm pretty sure in time you will want to re-upgrade ur intake system and spend additional money.

The way I see it, post maf tubes and K&N's are an easy sell if you are chasing for more power. It's cheap, effective and an easy 8-10whp. CAI gains over this setup are at the top of the rev range. Though I have noticed that AEM's give a bit more than others under 6500rpm too. Most likely from their ETI technology

For those members telling you to wait for a nicer intake, you will see almost the same gains with the drop ins and maf tubes.

Stillen G3 =$500+ for 18whp
K&Ns + Maf Tubes= $180 for 12-15whp

You do the math. Sure CAI looks nice, but "if moneys tight, do whats right."

Those are SRI's. SRI effectiveness is debatable in a normal closed hood environment. That's why most either do post maf tubes and drop in's or just go straight to CAI.

Depends on if you care what your engine bay looks like. The sound'll be a different as well (drop ins vs CAI)

If money is tight, save up until you can afford it? Or how about not modding a car in general and use that money on more important things?
