I'm gonna sell a god damn oil field and fly to Hawaii and steal the damn thing off your car, LOL

Anyone think the car will pass CA smog if I swap to stock DE cats + these headers when the time comes?

I feel it would be cheaper for you to just buy another stock HR manifold and make your own again lol

Z1 headers were built in the same jig as the Momentums.

Question? If the flange was made for the 370. Would you pay lets say $200 more? I feel there's a bunch of excuses for not buying now that there ready. People talk till the money is ready to be spent. This is modding.

I also think its kind of funny that a lot of guys complaining about that de flange.... its a copy and not a modification of the copy . I havent read anywhere where they said they would install the hr/vhr flange . As far as making money well they are a bussiness to make money ... right now even with the inequal colleclor lenght that piss me of in a header design is I dont see anything that are or will be available for the low price Z1 are selling those. The cheated bent that can clearly be seen is another point but slightly less critical than the collector.

But overall they should/will perform better that any available shorty header ( stillen as exemple.... )
On a side note equal lenght primary tube does not alway mean they are true same lenght. There is up to a certain lenght that is relatively acceptable for primary ( 1+- inch) and should not be like 3 inch !!!

FINALLY :) Now to place some orders

jcosta79 05-29-2013 10:20 AM

I'm confused... are there really significant gains to be made with a shorty header? The stock manifolds are pretty much shorty headers already. Is it the collector that's supposed to make the improvement?

I understand going with long tubes, but shorties? I'm not seeing any real gains to be made here.

The flange is the reason why I'm out, to ME it makes no sense to spend that much money and make something work. It is awsome that these headers finally came out with proven numbers and name. I still feel that it is a useless part for me vehicle.

Be patient as we will have the 370Z flange soon.

Well the Momentum proved to give some really great gain ALONE and with an already fully modded vehicule . Those Z1 should be very similar to the potential of the Momentum..
But we have yet to have seen a comparaison back to back with a known LTH.

I bought from a friend not long ago a pair of those momentum but my testing **Momentum Vs PPE) wont be with the VHR engine anymore . Since my Z now has an 3.7 stroked HR (3.5).

You cant compare our oem shorty header against the z1 &Momentum.
Yes the collector play a very big role to gain power but its also everything that will help to acheive those gain.

All this crying about price and this being a waste of time over buying other shorty's DESIGNED specifically for a 370z is a joke.

Lets play devils advocate and use a Stillen set up as an example. Their headers are $695 w/ t304 stainless steel. Z1 is offering their Momentum clone headers at $895 and for $1033 you get test pipes as well. Add 370z test pipes ($269) to the Stillen headers and you are at $964. You are telling me you would rather save $69 to make less power? If you are going through the effort of installing headers on a 370z you might as well do it right as it is very labor intensive. I could see if you already have 370z HFC or TP being somewhat disappointed as you will have to sell your current hardware.. but I am sure they will sell fast on the forums here for a large percentage of what you paid.

Lets not forget barring a few sets that were dumped when momentum was firesaling inventory they sold these headers for $1,299.

I think you guys should be happy z1 has managed to secure the jig, do R&D, and release this setup for an affordable price. And if you still have stock cats the additional $69 dollars price difference over a very nice set of headers from stillen (that make less power) is a steal. We all know you can throw money at these cars to make NA power but $69 is an oil change for these cars.

*all prices taken from z1 website.

Well that's what I want to know; what does the "everything" entail? Are the primaries larger and/or longer than OEM? Is the collector a true merge?
