Regardless of whether he meant Fast Intentions, Forced Induction, or Formula 1, to compare the washer mod to any of these is blasphemous...

I gotta admit, when I first heard about this mod I thought it was possibly the finest example of Redneck Engineering ever. But I've been wanting a little bit more sound so I called my favorite muffler shop to see how much it would cost for him to do it (I don't have ramps, yet, and didn't want to crawl under the car to DIY). After much laughing and asking several times if I was sure I wanted to do it, he said "Twenty bucks and that includes the washers." I thought "What the heck. We'll crank it up while it's still on the rack and put it back to normal if I don't like it."
I only had one washer put in but it sounds MUCH better. Very little difference at idle; just enough sound when the RPMs come up. Plus it's a little "throatier." Sounds very nice when downshifting. The only concern I have is that there are some soft suspension parts nearby. If I decide to leave the washers in, I think some sort of shield/deflector will be in order.

This thread is cracking me up. No offense, OP. The F1 exhaust and exhaust leak comments made my day.

I like to be blunt in life, but i think some members are just hurt bc they spent over 1000 for their setup (for hp and sound...blah blah blah) and we spent $14.04 for sound |

No offense to anyone but this seems like something a ricer would do to a civic. Not something someone does to a 370z .Especially if it isn't confirmed if you actually lose power. My .02

I cant help but feel the same way, you spent 30K+ on this car, its by no means really a cheap car. Test pipes can be had for $150-$200. Is that really a far reach? I mean, to each his own but it just seems.... half assed? I can understand the need/want to save money but things can be bought used for cheap too. I also feel like this would have been done in the 60's and 70's to make the V8's (and todays hondas too but sound like crap) sounds bad *** as hell and it probably cost them $.23 back then hah but the cars weren't as smart and sophisticated as ours are today.
