Can you upload a video for us to hear your setup?

I am about to pull the trigger on the art pipes or go another route. The owner has the only video I have seen on youtube of the art pipes with short tails.

Id like to hear some more!

Startup - Some in driving - and Flyby if you could! :tiphat:

I am currently talking to an exhaust shop about making custom short tails so I can keep my FI exhaust.

Personally, I LOVE them! Just a nice overall rumble to the exhaust note. I only notice drone between 3.5k-4k RPM on my AT when accelerating. They are almost silent when cruising at 40mph or 70mph. Those are the speeds I find myself driving most at. While under load (going uphill) there is that nice rumble/tone. Very cool for just a muffler delete :)

Short tails are great! This thread is more or less talking about AAM Shorties paired with other components like TP, HFC's, etc.. mostly aam midpipe :tiphat:

I'll try to create a video today. Sorry i only log in during the weekdays (at work :D).
We're most likely thinking of removing the short tails and just putting back on the OEM muffler. Tooo loud for us, the deep growl sound is great..but it really does grab a lot of attention. As far as the performance with the combo, its great. You can feel the extra power. Especially when letting go of the gas and letting the car cruise by it self. It seems to go further vs before it would feel like it would try to come to a stop.

I got my kit installed by Specialty Z, they did a great job installing it. But the fitment wasn't spot on (S-line mid and tails). One of the short tails fit very well, as the other it was sticking out about half an inch more and slightly more to the right. Also my concern would be if your car is lowered with this set up. Visually looking at the mid pipe, it really seems low.

No complains on the AAM intake.

had the exact same problem on fitment, had to have a muffler shop cut and fabricate it to get the right tip about an inch shorter and a little to the side.

Ahh yeah sorry I guess I got a tad off subject. I'll go and delete my post ASAP :D

On another note...
I think test pipes with just the short tails is asking for a bit too much increase in sound department. Having had experience with ART pipes (not with short tails) One could expect a slighter deeper tone but, that VQ hiss is gonna come on STRONG. JMHO

Here ya go guys. Just a crappy cell phone video. I go up and down the street a few times. Quick and slower acceleration. Sounds 10 times better in person but you get an idea :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJKc...e_gdata_player

Lol sorry fixed

NickTurnon 01-20-2014 12:11 PM

It sounds good! Not as loud as many of the unresonated Test Pipes, which is great!

Did you dyno before the tune with these mods by any chance?
