Default Stillen Gen 3 Install service light issue

Hey everyone - I just got mine installed and I feel that the car is a bit slower now compared to when it was stock. I am also getting a service engine soon after the install. The shop told me there is some part they can put on for $95 to block the maf service engine light from coming on. Does this sound right and should my car feel slower? It definitely felt like it had more of a kick prior to the install. Any advice would be appreciated. I reviewed the pics on the first page and everything looks right btw.

That doesn't sound right at all. If I were you I would take the tubes apart and see if one of them is blocked up. Besides this I don't know what to tell you. Try calling Stillen and see if they can help you with this issue.

Yeah this doesn't sound right at all. Double check all your connections and vacuum lines. But I definitely wouldn't pay 95 to block the service light from coming on when you should be able to fix it for free. Good luck though and keep us posted.

How would you fix it for free? All the tubes were clear before install. Does the ecu need a reset to pickup the new intake? And if so, how do you do that?

I would make sure the maf sensors, and hoses are on correctly

Have you reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative side of the battery and reconnecting it?

Did you in any way shape or form touch the sensors? Could they have a oily sheen on them? What error code are you pulling??

Thats another possibility or that one may have been damaged during install

But without a code reader thats just being premature

No the sensors were not touched that I'm aware of. There's no way of resetting the ecu without unplugging the negative cable? How long do you have to unplug it for? And I have a check engine light on now. The shop told me that's bc there is too much air coming in and the computer is recognizing that as not normal.

CG you seem like you are very hesitant when it comes to doing anything to your car by yourself. Right now you are relying on people that somehow screwed up your install to fix your issue. You are assuming that the pipes are clear because that's probably how you handed it over to them. You are again assuming that the sensors were not touched. So far no one on this forum has agreed with what the shop is telling you. So to me it's obvious that the guys in this shop are not experienced with this setup.

Call Stillen and see if they can help you. Stillen was very helpful with me when I had concerns about this intake system. So they should be able to at least lead you in the right direction on how to fix this. If you don't want to call Stillen then go to a different shop or even try taking it to a Nissan dealership.

At the very minimum, try to find out what the CEL code is and post it on here.

Hey man I'm sorry you are having issues with your intake but you are not giving us the information we need to help you.

Disconnecting the negative terminal for even a split second will reset everything in the car. If you want to be sure about it then disconnect it, go drop a deuce, and then reconnect it.

I could be wrong but I don't think that will fix your issue. Try to get the CEL code so that the experienced guys on here can help you.

This tip will also help, alex, when you install the m370 manifold. If you can do that without taking off the upper strut brace then
