specialk, think about it this way, your sways are bolted to the frame so it won't move, but your exhaust is hanging off rubber hangers (which is kinda like a spring) so it could bounce a little depending on how deep the pothole is and how fast u drive into it or how fast u go over the speed bumps or whatever that will cause ur car to bounce. so yes u do have the potential to hit it.
