Default K&N Intake to Stock

I recently purchased a 2012 370z M6 with a K&N CAI. I wanted to be bone stock for warranty purposes. I don't like K&N's cleaning and re-oiling process. I can give a list of reason why I don’t like K&N reusable filters.

This weekend, I swapped my K&N Intake for a stock intake from a 2010 370z Auto. We swapped everything including the MAS because the ones on my car had the same part no and were firmly attached to the K&N tube. I hardly noticed any loss of power at low/mid RPM. I rarely get the RPM above 5000 anyway. The car runs fine.

Do I need to reset the PCM or anything?

"rarely get the rpm above 5000"?
To me that's right in the meat of the power band!

What issues have you had with the k & n? I've used them for years with no problems on cars and motorcycles.

Its just a habit I have gotten into over the years with sports cars. I love the mid range of larger displacement engines. These cars pack a good mid range punch!

My gripe with K&N is the same when I had a 4th Gen Camaro. Both the GM and Nissan dealerships gripe about the MAS getting shorted out. I never know how much oil to put on it either. I rather say "Fix it" if anything goes wrong with a 100,000Mi Warranty. I don't see anything majorly wrong with the stock intakes design. I rather leave all the maintenance to the dealership and enjoy the car. It has more power than I need anyway
