Nismo muffler is QUIET!

Finally got around to installing a Nismo exhaust on my Z (only installed the muffler - waiting on installing h pipe once I install everything else ready install for a tune) and man the car is so quiet now. Rev matching is now nearly 100% quiet if I'm shifting into under 4k rpm. Pretty eerie actually!

Sooo... Nismo owners, I imagine your mufflers are incredibly restrictive (basing that just off of sound). I'm imagining even with the h pipe it still won't be enough of a 'racey' sound. Should've just gone with Fast Intensions! Maybe some HFC's will help out?

On a side note, I turned on the car without any muffler, and it sounded really good! I love the 'pop' sound on throttle lift off.

Just thought I'd share.

Remove the resonators and go with HFC's or TP's. It would be plenty loud then

If you wanted loud you should of just went aftermarket period. Getting a Nismo exhaust is a slight upgrade but as far as sound there is no OEM exhaust that is loud unless your in the exotic car class.

oem nismo exhaust with h pipe flows amazingly but it isnt loud at all. Replaced mine and it still isnt loud lol (ark dts with resonators removed) but i like it subtle had an rx8 with cats removed and exoticspeed exhaust and that was loud and flames would come out the rear so i grew out of it lol

Haha I agree! But I got a good price on a local pickup for the used exhaust. I was trying not to spend too much money modding the Z, but now I wish I had spent more. I've read those other threads but ill probably pull the trigger on that resonator delete and hfc's. not worth it anymore to buy a whole other exhaust.

Tips look great though!
