Default replacement exhaust nuts?

So my Top Speed Pro-1 axel back exhaust arrived. 4 14mm nuts and 1400 miles, how hard could it be. Damn, I was able to get 3 of the bolts loose. The 4th is slitghly stripped. I decided screw it I will have a shop do it in the morning just as it started to rain lol. Any suggestions for replacement 14mm nut or does someone know the replacement nut part number?

Thanks

Just go to the hardware store and get some that are same size. They work better than the ones that come with the kits.

Hey Mr. Xistential, how is your exhaust fitting? Just installed the Top Speed exhaust too and the tips are off. They both sit too close to the inside of the bumper.

I searched around on the forum and found a link to courtesy nissan where I found the SKU for the flang nuts. Yeah I know but I wanted factory spec nuts(anal retentive I know). Honestly I didn't realize the extra parts were tapped to the under side of the packing lol. I used the gaskets that came with the Top Speed kit.

SILVERKNIGHT7- I took it to a shop and they wanted over $200 to unsrew the four bolts holding the muffler on so I said screw it I'll do it myself. Damn these pipes are awesome but...At stop lights, there is this smell like some one is burning a straw or melting plastic. My first thought was damn my bumper is burning! I too thought the pipe on the driver side was a little to close to the bumper when I installed the pipes. When I pulled over to check the area around the pipe it felt slightly warm but honestly the bumper has felt warmer being in the sun all day at work.

I sniffed the exhaust and I am pretty sure the smell is coming from the pipes. Is it the rust penetrating spray I used to get the bolts off, is it the new gaskets, or some polish they put on the pipes when they ship? I am not sure. Anyone have any ideas? After the pipes cool off I am gonna try to bend one of the hangers a little to get a little more clearance.

Currently I have about a No2 and 1/2 pencil worth of clearance between bumper and tail pipe. On the driver side I can't get the pencil between the bumper and the tailpipe.

What is a good clearance for the pipes and bumper (should have measured it before I took old ones off)?

I had the same smell. It's burning off the stuff they spray on the exhaust from the factory to keep it from rusting. It will go away in a few days of driving.

My tips are are too close to the inside of the cutout. Its like the factory welded up everything too close together. 1/4 inch is all you need between the tip and bumper. Can you post a picture?

I attached a Pic from each side. As you can see the driver side the pencil just wont fit.

That's actually ok man. To get them the same you will have to lossen up the bolts and play with it. Do you mind posting a pic from the back of your car so I can see how your tips are centered?

Did you order yours directly from Top Speed. They told me they didn't have the straight tips. They sent me the rolled.

Honestly I was stunned how well they lined up. I was actually expecting to have to do a bunch of tweaking with pipes that were so affordable. If I were you I'd probably ask for a new set. I know it would be painful driving around for another week or two with the stock muffler but Top Speed does seem to put out a quality product from my experience.

Oh ok I just noticed something. You have the axle back exhaust and I have the one with the single pipe that connects to the y pipe.

Everyone has a smell when you first install a new exhaust, it is very normal. Now if after a few days its still there something may be a miss. Make sure you take it out and get it nice and hot a few times to burn off any crap that may be on it.

Yes SILVERKNIGHT7 I went with the axel back.

Thanks guys for the info. I couldn't get the hangers to bend so I just added some washers between the car frame and the hanger bracket to get me a minimum of a 1/4 between the bumper and the exhaust tips. I should let it melt the bumper then I could say "honey I melted my bumper and since I need to replace it I might as well get the Abflug bumper that I wanted in the first place"

Hey man I'm glad you got everything lined up the way you wanted it. I'm taking my car to the exhaust shop on Tuesday to see what they can do. I'll be making a call to Top Speed as well.

How do they sound? Loud? Drone? In comparison to stock muffler? I just ordered mine the other day they should be here Friday.
